I went in there today, expecting a lot more from the staff. Yes, I was greated at the entrance with a friendly hello, and that was it. The staff member did not ask me what I was looking for, or if I needed help. I was there to by a holster for my gun. The guns and ammo were clear in the back, this was my first experience at this store. I got to the gun department and stood there for at least 5 minutes while at least a handful of the gun department employees ignored me. All I needed was a concealed holster for my revolver. I decided to look for myself and found the holster section. I did not know what to get since there was a large selection. I went back to the gun and ammo counter and stood there for almost 5 minutes until I actually had to ask 3 people just standing there with their hands in their pockets who gnored my presence. The one individual finally sluggishly asked if I needed help, like I was bothering him. I explained I needed a holster for my revolver and I had it with me without shells, and wanted to check out what fits me well. He stated, "yeah everyone says they do not their gun loaded, but it usually is". I get it, I did pull out my empty gun and opened the chamber to prove it was not loaded. No biggie! We both walked back to where the holsters were, and he really did not want to bother with me. He told me literally, no one carries revolvers anymore and they didn't have anything that would accommodate my gun (?)! They sell the same gun there, and suggested I look online to buy a holster. WHAT?! So, he didn't ask me or suggested that they could possibly order one for me, he told me to look elsewhere. Wow!!! I was ready to buy, and he told me to go somewhere else. Incredible! I will not recommend this place, I am sure this is an isolated situation, but I will not return. Not...
Read moreMy older brother and I were in Gallipolis, Ohio to pick up a few boxes of ammunition for the upcoming Deer Gun Season. Opening Day was on November 28, 2022 and I was having a hell of a time finding .357 Magnum 158g. Semi-Wadcutter Bullets for my Ruger GP100. I had one new box of 25 bullets I had brought from Akron with me. I wanted one or two more boxes to use to be certain that my red dot scope was sighted in as I'd hate to be off sight and wound a Deer and not be able to find it. We had looked at several stores and Bridgeport Tools was my last chance. I checked the shelves and asked an associate with no luck. Bridgeport only had the .357 Mag bullets in 135g. Hollow Points and they only had two boxes of those left. I'm pretty well spoiled on the 158g. Wadcutters as I've killed several nice Bucks in past years using 158g bullets and I have tried 125g (too light) and I've tried 180gr. (too heavy) but, 158gr. gets me a quick kill every time and more often than not, with one (1) shot. I was highly impressed with the amount of guns and ammo at Bridgeport Tools. The store just didn't have my caliber in stock at the time I was looking. NO problem in my book! We enjoyed looking around and were not pressured by employees, at all. The prices were a bit higher on certain handguns than at Fin, Feather & Fur in Ashland, Ohio where I purchased several of my guns in the past. But, not high enough to keep me from purchasing at Bridgeport Tools IF I lived in this area year-round. I'd give Bridgeport Tools 5-stars for the amount of items they have, the large selection of manufacturers they stock and their store layout. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to spend bunches of my money at Bridgeport Tools if I lived closer...
Read moreI will explain in full why I will never step into this store again. First time I went in, I was by myself, not a single associate even acknowledged I was there, but any time a gentleman walked up beside me they were full ready to help them. I had to keep my tongue as I was forced to ask for help. I was there for 30 minutes before I asked. That right there is not right! Second visit. Just now I was finally spoken to by a man after looking for about 5 ish minutes. The others looked at me and kept walking even though they were not with other customers! Then! The man who did help me, spoke as if it pained him to talk to me, basically treating me like I knew nothing about the guns I was looking for. Please let me tell you this. Yes, I am a woman, yes I am looking for guns, yes I know about the guns that I look for, and actually have a pretty decent knowledge of them! I have sold them for 8 years now!!! Women are in the firearm world! We know things! Do not treat us like we don't! Do not look down on us for looking at them! And never, ever tell me I don't know what I am talking about! I will never step foot in that store nor order the gun I wanted...
