On July 26, we left our hotel in Gallup, NM, driving over 400 miles to Amarillo, Texas. There at our Amarillo hotel, we discovered that we had left behind in Gallup a bag containing vital medicines. We needed to get those medicines as soon as possible to prevent serious issues. Yet, for personal medical reasons, we could not leave Amarillo.
We have had decades of amazing experiences with our UPS Store back home in San Diego, CA, so of course we contacted this Gallup UPS Store location. Michelle was our first contact. She listened carefully, told us how to get our bag released legally from the hotel in Gallup. Then manager Bill (told us not to worry, saying that he would handle the whole thing. He drove to the hotel, picked up the bag and brought it back to the UPS Store. There, the bag was packed securely for shipping out the very next morning. All of this was done about 30 minutes before they were going to close for the night.
Meanwhile, we enlisted help from an Amarillo CVS Pharmacy to get an emergency supply of needed meds while we waited in Amarillo for our medical bag to arrive on Monday (there are no shipments on Sundays).
The very next business day (Saturday, July 27) UPS picked up our package from the Gallup UPS Store. Our medicines were delivered to us in Amarillo, Texas the following Monday, July 29 at 9:45 AM. Truly amazing. The whole thing was perfect, thanks to Michelle, Bill, and probably the whole staff at the Gallup UPS Store #2575, 2418 E Historic Hwy 66.
The Gallup UPS Store went above and beyond the call of duty. I'm sure Michelle and Bill would say that they simply did what they always do for every customer in providing, to the best of their abilities, expert pack-and-ship services. But the delicious icing on the cake here was the WAY it was done - with care, sensitivity for the customer's needs and concerns. And it was done with caring and kindness. Bill even said he would stay at the store past closing to make sure everything got done.
The pack and ship fee was more than reasonable, considering the incredibly secure packing job, making sure that the package would not be tampered with in any way enroute. The overnight fee charged by UPS was definitely not cheap, of course, but worth it because our situation could have easily become a medical emergency.
We are more than impressed by the expertise, willingness to help, and positive "we can do this" attitudes of Michelle and Bill. It is difficult to find the words to thank them enough, so we are hoping that this honest and grateful review will, in some tiny way, repay...
Read moreThank you so much Blaine for everything you did. Best experience ever. There should be 10 stars. We needed to overnight a document while traveling. We thought we were gonna have to go the UPS store then to the bank and back to the UPS store. We were able to print our document, have it notarized and overnight it all at The UPS Store. Blaine helped us with everything and went out of his way to make sure everything was done right all the while being friendly and personable. Also we were greeted promptly, helped immediately and while waiting for our document to print we were ask if we were being helped by another employee. Just great great customer service. We are from North Carolina and we felt like...
Read moreThe young lady that worked on 9/6 8:30 am was rude to my husband. He was trying to make copies and copier message was that it was out of paper. We informed the employee that it was out of paper and she snapped at us and for us not to touch the copier. We waited for the store to open so we were one of the first customers in the door but we were not being helped. I wonder if it was because we are natives but the employee was also native. It shouldn't matter what color my skin is, my currency is as valid as everybody else. The store barely opened and she was already stressing out. We will not return...
