Many of the shelves were nearly empty. They have a limit of items you can purchase at one time to prevent checkout congestion - beyond the limit and you return to the line. One male associate made small talk, moved very slowly, and each time the limit was reached would check the customer out and then start with more items. There were multiple people in line and the customer was on her third or fourth transaction when a third associate returned from break. The second associate was busy helping another family with two separate purchases. When it was finally our turn after a 10 minute wait (third associate), the male tried to interrupt my checkout to have more more bags retrieved. I did intervene and ask that she be allowed to continue helping me as we were already late and there were others waiting after me.
