Osaka Steak & Sushi House — Restaurant in Garden City

I eat here pretty often and it's almost always amazing. But today I had the weirdest experience and it was so unusual for this place because the workers are always so helpful and friendly.

I called in to place in a pick up order and the first thing I hear is "hello??" When they pick up. i had to double check I called the right number bcs there was no confirmation "this is osakas"

Okay, whatever, not super bugged by that. When I picked up the food the girl at the counter was on her phone and again, not super friendly. She wasn't rude just.. not friendly? Idk. Like I said. Just weird for this place. But I ordered two rolls. One for my mother and one for me. When I go to drop hers off at work i noticed they smushed our two rolls together in one box. Mind you I eat here pretty often, and they've never done this. In order to make them fit, they removed pieces from the expensive roll. If it wasn't for the fact these are so pricey I would say anything, but it is so...

I don't know. Like I said, this was very unusual and out of place for this restaurant. I would've rather contacted someone about this via email or a form but they don't have that anywhere on their website.

Don't take this as their usual service bcs it most definitely isn't, but today must've just been an off day...

The food was good, but this is the second time we have gotten sick after eating there unfortunately. The staff was very inappropriate. People seated after us had their drinks way before us. The waitress was cussing a lot it was very uncomfortable. She kept saying stuff about the other staff in front of everyone. I really dislike people cussing especially when I have my daughter with me. It was very uncomfortable, and we did try to ignore it but, it went on the whole time we were sitting there. The waitress also ignored a guy who asked for his sushi to go. He basically left everything on his plate since she never brought the box at least for him. We had to go ask for our own boxes and check. The front counter girl was just sitting behind the counter playing on her phone. They really need to have a talk with the workers that cursing non stop like that isn’t ok while clients are trying to enjoy lunch. The atmosphere ruined our dinner out which stinks since bill...

Update: I got food poisoning.

I ordered take out from Osaka last night. I got crab rangoon, a specialty roll (I think it was the Tokyo roll), and a combination lo mien. I really enjoyed the sushi I had and would definitely get that again. It tasted fresh, was nicely balanced, and was overall very delicious. The crab rangoon overall was good, it was crispy and put together well I just thought the filling was a little too sweet for my preference. Those two items I would get again and enjoyed overall. The lo mien however, was unfortunately the worst noodle dish I have ever tasted. The noodles were extremely soggy, the meat tasted off, the container was full of so much oil that it nearly reached the top, and it just left a horrible taste in my mouth.
