I recently wanted to enhance/upgrade my wedding ring to add a large center diamond i had purchased loose months before. The design I envisioned was rather unusual, and I was determined to find a jeweler which could execute my vision. I went to jewelers in Seattle, and Denver(my two home cities in the past year), and none of them said my design idea was possible. I knew it was, it would just take a little effort in thought and conceptualization. Being from Boise originally, I visited Boise this past holiday, and packed my loose diamond in case I was able to get the job done in Boise. My family has done business with Stewart's for many many years, and I have great memories of my grandmother taking me in to Stewart's as a child. I used to love staring at the amethysts, and Bruneau jasper. With Stewart's in mind, we ventured in. Gena was there to greet us, and she thoughtfully listened to my vision, and I was encouraged by her positive reaction to my idea/vision. Through a few update visits and phone consultations, my vision became reality and I couldn't be HAPPIER!! It's exactly what I wanted and at an extremely reasonable price. Please visit Stewart's. Their quality is far and away superior. And Gena your service is impeccable! Thank you Stewart's!

Brought a watch in to get a new battery. The girl at the counter held a conversation on the phone with her fried throughout our entire transaction. Although it was strange, I didn't really care about that. When she called to let me know my watch was ready, she informed me that they didn't know how to set the time and date, so I would have to do it. That was totally fine as well. So when I picked it up, I went to set the time and date by unscrewing the whole thing just drops out. The spline snapped on it somehow. I had just used it 2 days ago when the battery died and it worked fine. There was a different teller in there when I got there and she said they don't even set the date and time. But somehow the seconds had moved. And wasn't possible to move them any more with the spline broke. Long story short they broke my $1200 watch and lied about. Don't trust this establishment.

The lady running the store was very nice and helpful. Excellent selection of loose gems. I had to get a rough garnet since I'm visiting the state. You can also get loose and set star garnets. There are excellent specimens to see, but not all are sale. They will polish and set gems and repair jewelry. Ask to dig around the back though the rough piles. They aren't well organized, but there are some good pieces. The main rough consists of geodes, thunder eggs, plume agate, snakeskin agate, obsidian, and picture jasper. Minimal slabs, but nice ones. The fossil plates, polished labradorite, and agate bookends would make nice gifts.

I can truly say that the last pleasant experience that I had at Stewart’s was in 2017. Since then, it has been six years, and several visits. The general tone of the shop is not kind. Regarding my own knowledge or questions, the staff and owners were incredibly rude and/or condescending. I thought I had caught a couple of bad days- but it would seem not. I met them at the recent Gem and Mineral show and they were by far the most overpriced, and quite honestly, the rudest booth. I have been coming to Stewart’s for over twenty years now since I was a child enamored by minerals and stones. The last several treatments have driven me away from buying with them- in search of other stores. I can honestly say, if you’re looking for something more metaphysical, I would recommend Earthlight on Fairview. If you’re looking for local, knowledgeable, and kind, I would suggest Earthbrite off next to BigLots in Meridian. It you’re looking for expensive and quality products from all over the world, then Astro in the Village is exceptional. But Stewart’s is incredibly lacking in all of these departments. If you need an overpriced Star Garnet, then Stewart’s...

I was born and raised in Caldwell Idaho about 16 years ago we moved to Las Vegas Nv we made numerous trips back home to visit family and freinds. We have never noticed this store. Since COVID-19 my wife had began her journey of rock hounding and I followed her. As rookies to the rockhounding game we are clueless and only been to a few spots digging for rocks. We decided to make a trip to Idaho for a mini getaway to visit family in Idaho. I googled who sells rock polish for rock tumbling and Stewart’s Gem Shop pop up. Soon as we open the front door we were greeted by the friendliest staff !! My three sons and two nephews had the best time in there life’s looking at thunder eggs and all kinds of rock minerals. The experience my family had was priceless and the owners of the store made us feel at home, most importantly they educated us in different types of rocks and how to clean them. I was really excited for the customer service my family received. Words can’t express how happy my family was most importantly my wife. We definitely recommend Stewart’s Gem Shop ! Thanks guys !! P.S go...
