Respectfully, to the person who went up for a blessing at communion. You approached an Extrordinary Minister. Not an Ordained Priest. If you wish to receive a blessing, always go to the Priest. The Priest is a man set apart, consecrated for holy purposes. The woman you approached knew she had no authority to bless you. An uncomfortable situation for both of you. While it has become more common, communion is not the time to receive a blessing. It is the time to receive Our Lord if Catholic, and in a state of grace.
