They may have some delicious treats, but their customer service needs some attention. My family and I came in there on the day they were participating in the downtown easter egg hunt. They had a wonderful young gentleman at the door giving out eggs, however once we entered to look around for something more delicious, I noticed there was only one person working at a time when they should have had at least 3 people working, not including the 10 year old at the door. Now I get it... it's not easy to find good help in this service industry environment we currently have, but this is a main street America ice cream/chocolate shop where customer service should be a focus. I also understand the one gentleman working was swamped and was not having a great day, however if you're going to serve something that brings smiles to faces you should probably wear one yourself and at the bare minimum address the people you're in the room with and acknowledge the fact that you are working to take care of everyone. None of this occurred. In fact, my toddler was ignored at the counter when he was waiting so patiently to pay for the treat he picked out. It was my impression at this point, the gentleman working was trying to ignore my family, which was pretty unprofessional. So yep, one star!...
Read morePAY ATTENTION TO YOUR RECEIPT! I was charged double the price for one item and a dollar more for another item. I can understand someone ringing up something by mistake. However, when you bring it to their attention and CLEARLY show them the error, there should be an apology, not an excuse. The sign said $4.95 per pound. I had .39 of a pound. It rang up at $3.86. HOW? I tried to explain to the person behind the counter and even showed her that mathematically it's incorrect. You take the weight and multiply it by the price per pound. She still didn't get it. The computer charged $9.90 per pound. Her response, "It's set up like that, but it rings up right." Umm, no it doesn't. $3.86 is almost equivalent to 3/4 pound. Where did you go to school? She had an attitude about refunding my money. I was also overcharged for a caramel apple by a dollar which I...
Read moreWe have been semi regular visitors and supporters of the chocolate shop. Excellent product and fun environment. Our 2 year old son loves to go in there and talks about it constantly. Today, we were approached by a particularly unhappy employee who apparently saw our son put a piece of taffy in his mouth. She very rudely demanded we pay for it and was extremely unpleasant about the entire thing. We are not unreasonable people and although we didn’t see him put the candy in his mouth, would have zero problem paying for it if someone else saw it occur. It was the manner in which we were approached that was the most disappointing. I don’t know that we will be back in the shop because of this incident. We paid the 27 cents for the...
