This was the first time our family of 6 went here and it was a very weird experience. We asked for a pot of hot tea for the table and they brought us each a $2 cup of tea with a tea bag, not what we asked for... but also nowhere to put the used tea bags other than right on the table. In case they don't know, if tea steeps too long it becomes very bitter. On the menu it says "no substitutions. You are responsible for what is ordered. NO REFUNDS!", which seems really defensive, so be forewarned. We ordered lunch and it says right on the menu "All entrees come with rice and egg drop soup".My dad wanted the Egg drop soup that came with his meal and he also ordered a bowl of vegetable soup at full price that cost $6. This was not an up-charge. They didn't bring him the egg drop soup and when he asked why he didn't get it, the waitress told us that if you order a bowl of soup then you don't get soup with your meal which is absolutely bizarre. I asked if I could upgrade from the egg drop soup to a bowl of hot and sour and they said there is no upgrade, you can pay full price for the hot and sour soup. Apparently this place has a "you cannot have 2 soups" policy. When my dad said he felt entitled to the soup that came with the meal they said no, they would not do that. When he said he wouldn't eat here again, they said "That's okay."
I've managed a restaurant and I know that a bowl of soup is meaningless compared to dissatisfied customers (there were 6 of us), word of mouth, no repeat business and poor reviews. Apparently they haven't learned this lesson yet, but I'm sure...
Read moreRestaurant was extremely clean. Took a little while for us to get it menu and the menu was not as clear as one is used to what was easy to understand eventually. Music was erratic on and off and volume levels we're not consistent felt like they were using a CD player or MP3 device that had some issues maybe? I'm not a expert on Thai cuisine so I was okay with what I ordered. Sign on the door was very confusing no public bathrooms but what that really meant was bathrooms are for paying customers only. I ended up getting there in between a waitress shift change and I don't want to hold that against them. She made sure I was all set before she left and gave me the bill and takeout containers. I was in the process of leaving as the next waitress took over. Overall experience was decent. Some notes to take over there is a buffet station in the corner of the restaurant that does not appear to be in use I could not tell if there was some special occasion they used it for or day of the week. when I first walked into the restaurant although I was greeted I stood there for a moment not sure if I'm supposed to seat myself or be seated. Turns out you're to seat yourself. I don't mind that especially in a small restaurant but maybe you take the plan that had Thursday written on it and chalk and right see yourself by the way it was not Thursday. Overall good experience food was good, will come back again since my wife...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to stop and eat here the other day while on a road trip. It was fairly cold outside, so we wanted something warm and filling. When we arrived there was only one table seated, but the restaurant filled up fairly quickly after we were seated--it seemed to be a popular place. My wife ordered the Generals Chicken (their take on General Tso sauced chicken) and I ordered the Szechuan with chicken. We also each ordered an egg roll. The meal came with an egg drop soup that was honestly the best egg drop soup either of us have ever had. This is not the lemon yellow colored "soup" that you get at some places. This was handmade, fresh ingredients, super flavorful soup. I could easily have made a meal of this soup if I'd had more of it, and if I lived in the area you can bet I would be coming by to pick up takeaway containers often. The egg roll was also freshly cooked and had all the appearance of being hand made. It was excellent. The Generals Chicken was good and flavorful, but we both found it to be a bit sweet for our taste...nothing wrong with it, just more than we would have preferred. The Szechuan chicken was excellent! It was flavorful and tasty. I ordered it with "fire" spice (their hottest) and would consider it a 4 / 10 spice level if you are a habanero and ghost pepper eating purveyor of spicy foods. All in all, a fantastic restaurant with friendly staff and excellent food,...
