If I could leave zero stars, I would.
My experience with Slumberlandâspecifically this disgrace of a locationâhas been nothing short of infuriating. I purchased a piece of furniture that arrived damaged, and after going through the headache of reporting it and waiting for a replacement, the exact same issue appeared with the new item. But rather than an apology or even a sliver of accountability, I was met with outright hostility from the store manager, Moe (if that's even his real name. To be honest, he was so unprofessional that it wouldn't surprise me if he gave me a fake name).
Let me be clear: Moe was not only unprofessionalâhe was aggressively rude, argumentative, and alarmingly combative. He interrupted, deflected, and insulted me as if I were the problem for expecting a damage-free product that I paid for. At no point was there any remorse, no sense of customer care, and not even a hollow apology for the inconvenience and frustration this entire ordeal caused. Moe acted as if doing his job was a personal burden, and customer satisfaction was some foreign concept he resents having to acknowledge.
For a national brand like Slumberland to allow this kind of leadership to remain in place is a stain on their reputation. If this is the level of service they condone, itâs clear they value neither quality control nor customer loyalty. Moeâs behavior alone is enough to drive customers awayâbut combine that with damaged goods and refusal to take responsibility, and it becomes abundantly clear: this location is a disaster.
Slumberland should be embarrassed to have their name attached to this store. At this point, I wouldnât take a free couch from them if it came with a lifetime warranty. Shame on this location. Shame on Moe. And shame on Slumberland for allowing it to continue.
Edit: The response from Slumberland is a prime example of how ignorant they are to customer complaints. The first chair and replacement char was clearly damaged. The fabric is completely separated at the seams, with staples exposed, poking out and causing a puncture hazard to anyone using the chair. Furthermore, I reached out about the damaged replacement that same day, not a month later (I have the texts with images to prove it). The delivery drivers even acknowledged the damage and sent pictures of it to their manager. They said they were having problems with shipment, maybe sometime in April. Was told I could get the same pieces in a different color in 2 weeks. As I tossed my old furniture away already, I decided to take the different color that was in stock. Furniture was delivered March 1, 3 piece sofa, didn't sit on it until the next day. This is when I noticed two of the pieces the cushions were very soft and the third was firm. On the two that you sink into, the material is puckered. I sent an email that day, no response so I called the next day. They said they would have someone come and look at it. 2 weeks later a gentleman, and I'm assuming his wife, came and looked at my furniture sat down on it, got up took a picture of the label and said that the two cushions were not as firm as the third and did notice the puckering of the material. I had to call Slumberland back, as I had not heard from anyone in 7 days, when I was told I would hear back in 3-5. I talked with Randy, he said they would call back the next day. When I received the call the next day, they said it was manufacturing wear. WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN??? I had the sofa for 1 day and it looked like that. I don't think the floor room sofa had as much pucker on that as mine has in the 28 days that it has been in my house! I would never recommend purchasing anything from this place, EVER! They don't back their lousy workmanship and can care less once they have the sale. Do yourselves a favor and purchase from somewhere else!
