Barefoot General Store — Local services in Georgetown

Very cute shop that I would have loved to look around.

When we entered I was cornered by the store employee and she stood firmly between me and the rest of the store. She seemed very kind - just sort of chatty and oblivious to the fact that her job was to allow people to shop. When I tried to change the conversation by pointing out a perfume I wanted to my fiance she still didn't let up.

It was all fine and a little amusing, until she started lecturing me about politics. Not conversing - lecturing. Even when my polite smile started looking a little less polite, and my responses became a short "mm".

Eventually I just turned around and left. I felt very rude, but I also feel like the attendant was being remakably rude to someone who was just trying to spend money in the store.

Maybe that's just how things are now... "Don't shop here if you disagree with me...

Caution..if you purchase something there they will not do a refund only in store credit. Although they have some nice merchandise most is priced entirely too high. They did not tell me purchases were not refundable although it prints out on receipt AFTER you pay. Will not shop there again or...
