I have never in my life have been treated like I was today! I spend 1000’s of dollars in this store monthly and today because I chose to use gift cards that I have saved up for a special shopping trip (my husband and my anniversary) I had the police called on me for trying to use them after I showed him the activation recipts that thank God I had he left. After that my own credit was charged 1200.00 and they also had use 4 of the 200.00 gift cards. Those cards are showing a zero balance after they assured my they voided the transaction. I have a difibulator in my heart and I repeatly told them my heart was jumping they continued to try a figure out how they were going to give my money back. Then the store manager wanted to know how a common manager like myself could afford to spend money like I do. I explained my husband was killed by terrroriest while serving his country in the military and I was compensated because I went after the county who funded his attack. Bringing all this up along with dealing with the police triggered not only my v fib heart condition but also triggered my PTSD!!! They made me take the merchandise I did not want and also leave without any documantion to show me where the put money back on the gift cards so I have now paid twice for my merchandise. I left Dillard’s and had to go to my conceiger heart doctor who Thank God was able to prevent my difibulator going off. I am at a loss at what to do now because I feel so violated. A person who gives this store so much money and bussiness was treated awful. I can’t stop crying. I think to myself this is who my husband gave his life for. People who can get away with treating common people who don’t show that they have money like criminals. Forgive my for my grammar, muispelling and rant. I am jus so upset and trying to figure out what I should do to prevent this from happening to someone else. Because of my heart condition I could have dropped dead because of all the stress and PTSD that was triggered. My two daughters and grandbaby would no longer have me. Did anyone of these managers...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting behavior from two of women employees. One of the women’s name WAS SUSAN.I was helping my little sister try on her dress which is VERY normal and they basically tried kicking me out of the fitting room. Is it not normal to help your family try on a dress?!? Then they made a big deal about the amount of items we had IT WAS ONLY 5 dresses. I literally walked out of there at that point. It seemed like racial profiling to me. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOUR A PERSON OF COLOR!!! DO NOT ASK SUSAN FOR HELP!! When I walked out of the fitting room they had even called security. He was standing outside the fitting room. Like what? They tried escalating the situation soooo bad. These lady’s are extremely rude, the way she spoke to me was rude from the beginning. When she told me I couldn’t have more than 3 items in the fitting room (which is crazy for a dillards) I nicely told her I could give her 2 of the dresses and keep three which I did and she TOOK away those two dresses I handed to her. I was complaint and nice. Then not even 2 minutes later she came back out of no where to yell at me to get out of the fitting room. Who does she think she is?? Y’all need better employment training. If you thought we were going to steal a dress, how in the world would that be possible if we had big puffy dresses. Where would we put them? Up our shirt?!?! We didn’t even have bags just one Jcpenny bag with a shirt in there. Like I said RACIAL PROFILING. Absolutely disgusting behavior from these two lady’s who think it’s okay to yell at there customers just because we’re young and very obviously people of color. Very racist staff. Very rude staff. And very dumb as well. Susan I hope you see this. Your 60 working at dillards on a Friday night I can see why your BITTER. Btw. Susan was a white woman if you didn’t guess...
Read moreI had a really disappointing experience at this Dillard’s (Indian River Mall). I’m a 15-year-old, and while shopping, I accidentally walked toward what I thought was a restroom — it turned out to be a stock room. As soon as I realized my mistake, I turned around and left immediately. An employee told me I wasn’t allowed back there, and I apologized right away.
A few minutes later, a manager and a security guard approached me, trying to intimidate me and telling me to leave the store. When I calmly asked what I did wrong, the manager accused me of saying, “I’ll just get it myself,” which I never said. I even asked to review the cameras to clear things up, but she refused. She also claimed that the employee who reported me was “NYPD,” as if that somehow made her word unquestionable — which felt unnecessary and unprofessional.
I left without causing a scene, but later found out I wasn’t banned from the mall, just asked to leave Dillard’s for the day (as far as I know). The entire situation caused me a lot of stress, especially since it was an honest mistake and I took responsibility right away. The way the manager handled it — hiding her badge and trying to intimidate a teenager — was completely inappropriate.
I plan to contact Dillard’s corporate to report this incident, including the manager’s conduct and possible violation of Florida Statute §843.08 (False Personation).
To be clear, I have no issue with the employee who originally corrected me — she was polite — or the security guard, who seemed to understand the situation. But I truly hope Dillard’s reviews this manager’s behavior and trains staff on how to handle misunderstandings with basic respect, especially toward...
