I have gone to the Glasgow Walgreens off & on for many years. Most of the time it wasn't for pharmacy items, just enjoyed looking at the items in the store and making use of the photo part of the store. When my then employer made the decision to choose them for giving employees the first COVID vaccines (I was in healthcare at the time), I kept going to them for that even after I left healthcare. Yesterday I went to an urgent care to be seen and was given a Rx for some cough medicine. I was running later to get to my job but thought I could get it and get some food before I went to work. That's not how things happened and it has been a disaster. I waited in line for what seemed like forever with very little interaction between the pharmacy staff and the customers once they reached the window (it could have been 25 minutes) and when it was finally my turn, guess what I heard: "We just got that one, it will be 15 minutes." I didn't have that time as I had thought it would be ready since it was a simple Rx and they had had time to get it ready from the provider. I was already irritated at this point and I told them to just forget it. When I called to get it transferred to my regular pharmacy and they called this store, they were told there was NO current Rx for me!! I called the store, talked to a manager and was given a very nice conversation by her but when I called this morning to have it taken care of, I got the same line: We don't have anything current on file for you. Funny, when I called the urgent clinic they had a record of it being sent and I was also told this wasn't the first time they had heard negative things like this situation. Yes, I got a little salty with my language, but in reality BS is something you would step in if you go into a pasture with cattle. About the only thing this store had going for it was I liked their photo lab and now I will not be back to use it, at this Walgreens location. I also had a problem with getting my last COVID vaccine from them and that should have been my alert to not go back. I understand understaffing and working the staff you do have ragged but this is NOT acceptable for a business trying to provide services for those who are sick. Despite what the pharmacist there said, the Rx WAS sent through and received, perhaps it just wasn't read but it WAS sent. I spent a miserable night trying to get some rest and coughing until I am hoarse, and it was totally avoidable if I had gotten my Rx and been able to take it. Avoid this place is my...
Read moreI want to note this. Yesterday 3/3/2025 I called Walgreens pharmacy to ask if my prescriptions was filled, the person on the other end of the phone said, yes, you can pick it up anytime today. I drove 30 minutes (one way) to pick them up only to get to the drive thru window to hear, oh we're out of one of the scripts. I asked, which one, she replied... The pain meds...I rolled my eyes and said you must be joking? I think that made her even more "unfriendly "Now, if this had been the first time this had happened, I could have...would have just let it go. But for the fact the cashier was rude and uncaring, I'm now writing this review. By the way, not the same cashier today. I would like to think that the reviews we all write would change things, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Taking medication isn't always a choice and they should be aware of their counts. I know they have stressful jobs, but a lot of people do. I wish the person hadn't told me to "pick it up anytime today"! So I headed back home, A 30 minute drive... I called this morning and was told to call back in a couple hours. I did, and I did get my medicine at 3:30pm. I just hope something changes. Thank you in advance IF anyone from Walgreens reads this and TRIES to do something about it, if only to maybe change the attitude of the cashier at the window around 1:40pm on the...
Read moreWent to get a prescription. Waited in line 30 minutes and when I pulled to the window I was told that they had the script but didn't have it filled yet. She asked that I drive around and wait in line again and by the time I got to the window it would be filled. I said "no problem, but I'll just come in and look for a brace while I'm here". I waited about 20 minutes and went to the counter. I was told "that went to Central filling and it will be here tomorrow by Noon". Not happy, but I get it. Everyone is trying to cut cost.
So I come back the next day at 5pm. Wait in line another 30 minutes, get to the window and she says "that went to Central filling, it'll be here tomorrow by noon". I say, "no that's what they told me yesterday, it's supposed to be here today and I need this medicine". To which she replied, "well it is at Central filling it will be here tomorrow by noon"
So I left and went to Walmart and had my medicine in...
