We had a good, but not perfect, experience at Basin 141 in our first time visiting this cute part of Montrose. We were seated right away on a Saturday night a little after 6 though had to sit at high tops as all of the more comfortable booth seating was occupied. The cocktail menu is impressive with its many creative options. I had the Weissen Sour which was a really well-mixed refreshing cocktail that was not on the dryer side (ie not sweet.) There are tons of delicious and unique cocktails to try on their menu and I definitely want to come back and try more. We're vegetarians and were excited to see many options available on their dinner menu including 3 different vegetarian tacos. (Truffle Mushroom, Sofrito Taco, and Potato [the Sofrito is also vegan]). My wife and I actually both ordered the taco plate with the same 2 tacos - one Sofrito and one Potato. It was cool that you could mix and match your tacos so you could try more than one on the plate...as well as add more than just the 2 that came with the plate. Both of these tacos were delicious...the Sofrito came in a handmade tortilla...it actually fell apart (the tortilla) as soon as I picked it up so I had to eat that one with a fork. It was good and had a nice spice to it....the potato taco was crispy shelled...it was yummy and among the more flavorful potato tacos I've had. The tortilla chips it came with were house-made, so yay for that, but they were definitely over-fried...browner than they should have been on both our plates so not as fun to eat. Also for vegetarians are a Pub Pretzel, Charred Cauliflower, Truffle Mac and Cheese, an artisan cheese plate, a bunch of sides and salads as well. So If you're vegetarian, or vegan, or gluten-free, you will not go hungry here. We liked it here and would definitely come back for more drinks and to try the other things to eat. Would have been 5 stars if the chips weren't overcooked and my taco had not fallen apart upon first touching it. Something to strive for, Basin 141!

We went to Montrose for shoes, an impromptu haircut (hubby) and breakfast! We found parking in a city lot in front of Anawalt lumber and started walking up Honolulu. The shoe store Walk this Way was open already but we wanted food. As we were walking I saw someone eating from a cast iron skillet and I say that looks good. The response was it is and I look at the store front and realize we are at Basin 141 . Sorry for the delay in finishing my review but my entrĂ©e at The Whole Enchiladas was served. It wasn’t that warm outside so we elected to eat inside, This location is more like a tavern like. The one in Monrovia is more family, large group oriented. I have been to both. So it was Sunday and we were here for Brunch! They have Bottomless Mimosas (Some Orange Juice mostly sparkling wine). I am not a Mimosa fan so I had the Basin Rita. My husband had water ( someone has to be able to drive home) Also he wanted to have room for his large Pure Dark Chocolate Ice blended with 2 shots from CBTL. He had the Cinnamon Cream French Toast The food looked and smelled delicious. I love the smell of cinnamon. I had the Brioche French toast an extra side of bacon and a side of crispy potatoes .No leftovers we ate everything. I enjoyed my cocktail and decided to stop at one . Will we come back yes. Would we bring friends or family yes.

If you're looking for an elevated 21+ spot where the whiskey flows as smoothly as the conversation, look no further. This whiskey bar has quickly become my go-to for a classy yet laid-back night out.

The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between cozy and refined, with dim lighting, wood accents, and a playlist that sets the mood without overwhelming it. The whiskey selection is nothing short of impressive—whether you're a connoisseur or just starting your journey, there's something for every palate.

But what really took me by surprise was the food. It’s not just bar bites—this is elevated comfort food with real culinary chops. The sliders were melt-in-your-mouth perfect, and the fish and chips were addictively good.

Now let’s talk about the service, because it deserves its own spotlight. The servers were attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable without being pushy. Everyone made us feel welcome and unrushed, which is rare these days.

the bartenders know their craft. Not only did they recommend a perfect flight based on my preferences, but they also mixed up one of their signature cocktails that was easily one of the best drinks I’ve had. His passion and personality elevated the whole experience.

If you’re over 21 and appreciate good whiskey, great food, and genuinely top-tier service, this bar is a must-visit. Can’t wait...
