CRACKING CRAB — Restaurant in Glendale

This review is more about the service than the food. From the moment my friend and I arrived, it felt like our server had an issue with us. Her attitude came off as dismissive, like she was forced to serve us and didn’t want to. I let her know I have a shellfish allergy and kindly asked if the clams could be packed separately. That request seemed to annoy her, and she didn’t hide it. Instead of helping further, she had a colleague take over. Unfortunately, even that second server seemed hesitant to help, likely influenced by the first. It’s disappointing because I’ve been to this restaurant before — this was my third visit — and I’ve never experienced service like this. I’m not sure if there are new owners or staff, but this visit left a bad taste. The food itself was okay — not amazing, not bad. Did not care for their limp shrimp in a bag. I've had great New Orleans barbecued shrimp many times and this is not it. They should not advertise themselves as cajun or New Orleans style food because that is an insult to the great food of the south. I would call their version "shrimp slop in a bag". It was so disappointing because I was in the mood for cajun food. I guess I need to go to Harold and Belle's, or Emeril Lagasse's. They also have a very limited menu. Great service and great food, be ready to get messy and eat spicy seafood. Variety of seafood options, I personally prefer to get my seafood by lb and add their crab mix sauce with option of spicy. They have combo options as well it includes sausage and corn along with seafood option. If you are going with group of ppl like 4 and plus the combo is the best option. I usually get the black mussels with corn and sausage and it's more than enough for me. They have entree options I have never tried and fried seafood.
