Terrific experience with Ponderosa! We have switched permanently from using a large "down-the-hill" heating and plumbing company to using Todd.

Our heat went out unexpectedly after years of no problem (18 year old Heil gas furnace that we do maintain well) so I called our "down-the-hill" provider to find out what was wrong. The tech (they always seem to send someone new - never the same guy) gave me a list of two things, then also "red-tagged" our furnace for a faulty heat exchanger and gave me the option of replacing the furnace or fixing everything for $2,300 (the heat exchanger was under warranty so most of the estimate was for labor.) It seemed to me like his diagnosis was somewhat rushed and a bit "dramatic," so I called Ponderosa for a second opinion.

I talked to Todd on the phone, and right away he was on it - asking for the model and serial number of the furnace so he could start investigating and put a hold on a new heat exchanger. He came out the next morning at 8am (right on time!) and did a thorough inspection of the furnace. Lo and behold, the heat exchanger was NOT at risk of causing a CO problem and I only needed one part to get the furnace running again. He explained his logic, even checked his diagnosis with a few other people, then re-affirmed the CO levels when he got the furnace running again that morning. His cost, including the one part I needed, was $630, so I was thrilled not to have gone through the $2,300 repair or even worse, a new furnace.

Living in Evergreen I tend to get stood up or delayed quite often with service people. Not with Todd. He talked to me on the phone in detail about my problem, showed up on time, and stayed until he had gotten my heat back on and checked that everything was running right.

Todd has many years of experience and seems to be 100% honest - which is apparently a rarity in this field! We consider ourselves very lucky to have found Ponderosa and recommend Todd...

This is the first time I have ever dealt with Todd Hutchcroft and Ponderosa Heating and Air Conditioning, from Bailey, Colorado; and it has been an exceptional experience. I have an old furnace that I wanted to keep for a while longer. I have found that Todd will work his hardest to try and repair your problem before he says you need a new one. He worked mine for a couple of hours, fixed a couple of things and got it working. Terrific! A couple of days later, it failed again. Back came Todd and his apprentice, Chance. He solved a couple of new issues, found a bad sensor, called the manufacturer, his supplier, located and ordered a new part. He then temporarily installed a temporary part, and it is working; awaiting the new parts arrival. Fantastic! He has told me it is past its life expectancy, and to prepare for buying a new unit in the near future. But Todd’s perseverance and knowledge has impressed me greatly. He is honest, has conviction; and for all you veterans out there, his Apprentice Chance, is a military veteran. In addition, his wife, Luci, runs the office. Not only does she work his schedule, answer all the calls, passes on messages; but she is also friendly, considerate, and just downright nice to talk with. Add on. They needed to return for just a minor issue I had. They were again very courteous, efficient and helpful. The fixed the small problem I had and assisted me with setting up the Smart Thermostat and it works perfect as well. Thanks...

I had an exceptional experience with the Ponderosa team. They are highly professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and fast. Excellent customer service and expert installation. Highly recommended.

My wife and I moved into this home two years ago with an aging 20 year old furnace and AC. Recently, our AC stopped suddenly, so I got in touch with Ponderosa via their website. Moe, the technician, was here in less than 24 hours to diagnose the problem. The blower died and there was possibly a refrigerant leak.

Moe is extremely knowledgeable and eager to educate. He went above and beyond to help me understand the problem and explained our options in a candid and straightforward manner. We discussed the merits of repairing the immediate problem to get us by (the cheaper, short-term fix) versus biting the bullet and replacing the entire system now, knowing full well we will need to replace it in a year or two anyway. Moe's communication was great; he was responsive and very helpful with all of our questions. I could tell he was genuinely steering us in the right direction instead of nickel-and-diming us.

We ultimately decided to replace the whole system. We went with a new Bosch furnace and heat pump.

The installation team was fantastic. Jerry, Tony, and Jon are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. I was very impressed by their expert installation.
