EDITING TO ADD: what I ordered was a drip coffee with extra room. The gentleman taking my order said is an Americano ok? Bc they donât have drip. I said that was fine (assuming he would still know that I wanted room for cream). Regardless, this doesnât change the interaction, the trickle effect, and the rudeness of stopping to pour as Iâm watching diligently to let the barista know when was enough. This had absolutely nothing to do with cost for me - as you suggested in your first reply - and everything to do with service. I was not trying to âbuy a stripped down car & asking for chrome wheels,â as you suggested, which is a hilarious comparison for a tiny portion of creamer. I wouldâve happily paid the extra had the man taking my order charged me for that. Your barista also could have kindly let me know that this was a different drink & I could have offered to pay. But clearly this was entirely on me for not ordering properly and certainly has nothing to do with the fact that your âmargins are tight,â which just further proves my point. The half-n-half was stingy in both of the drinks we ordered & it is, in fact, why we chose to go elsewhere for breakfast. We will not be going back - just sharing an honest review.
We ordered a tea & an americano. We both wanted half-n-half. They keep the milk and creamers behind the counter, which is fine. However, the barista trickled the half-n-half in the most stingy way imaginable & seeing that it would take a while for her to pour the right amount, I said âdonât worry, I like a lotâ (really, I like about about 1/2â of creamer for a full cup of coffee). I watch as she pours a little more before she stops pouring & asks if that was good. So I said âno, I like a bit more.â And she, rather begrudgingly, poured & again, with the slowest trickle. Maybe to no fault of her own, but rather to her training, I suppose. A strange interaction, nonetheless.
We were going to order food after our coffees & decided not to bc Iâm sure theyâre stingy...
Read moreIf you happen to be or already live around Golden Rd, downtown golden, applewood, Colorado mills mall or are that type of person that doesn't mind driving a couple extra minutes for a solid coffee place this is the one.
We already live about 5 minutes away from SOGO so the fact that we just found out about it and it's been around since October is driving me crazy.
They are completely family run and extremely accommodating.
The coffee was definitely a sweet treat. It was almost as if they had the Inventing room in the highlands curate all of the toppers on their speciality lattes (refer to the photos- cookie dough and Toasted Marshmellow latte). Buried underneath was a well balanced cup of Joe. It's pretty crazy how reasonably priced it all is considering everything including in the drinks.
Aside from their over the top coffee creations they separate theirselves from your typical coffee shop by doubling as a skate shop by promoting local skate merchandise.
This is going to be our go to spot...
Read moreI LOVED this place. Iâve been a barista for three years and I got a 16oz bourbon caramel latte and I found it delicious. My partner got a honey americano and that was also amazing. You can tell the quality of espresso was there and, for my latte, the milk was carefully steamed. The love is definitely there for coffee. The bonfire burrito was also delicious and it looked like it might have been warmed on a panini press or some sort of oven or stove top (not a microwave!) This made the burrito have a really great crunch and taste so yummy. There is also art and local brand skater-style tees, hats, pants, and hoodies. My partner also was able to buy indy trucks for their skateboard with the hardware while we were there too! The inside of the shop is stylized too, with adobe style arches and art and plants. There is also WiFi! Definitely give this place a try if you havenât!! Support local!
If they are ever hiring baristas I will definitely be on the lookout! Thatâs just how great this...
