This place does not deserve the high rating it has.
For me the place was very awkward as I walked from the back parking lot. The inside looked abandon and run down. You get to the front and realize that section is blocked out by a weird shelf.
There is also no one to greet you. So as you walk into the dinning area you expect to sit where you like, but in our case we were instantly screamed at from across the room and told to sit somewhere else.
Then it came time to order and the same lady came about 5 minutes later and took our order.
Pad Kee Mao (no meat choices you get what they want you to have, shrimp and chicken) Yellow chicken Curry spring rolls 2 waters
The Pad Kee Mao was very unconventional. I asked for the second most spicy Pad kee mao and whenever it came out it was not spicy at all. There was almost no sauce and the noodles were burnt and there were 2 shrimp in the entire dish. I would have asked for chopsticks, more sauce and something to make it a little more spicy but I never saw my waiter again until it was well past time to pay. The only redeeming quality to this dish was the fact that they used good rice noodles, although they were burnt... Other note about the dish It would have been much more flavorful if they would have added the basil later, after they took it off the heat, so that it would not destroy the flavor of the basil.
The Yellow Curry was good and very standard, no complaints.
Spring Rolls were tasty.
Water was not refilled because we never saw our waiter, so maybe it was good that they didn't actually make it spicy haha.
They are way understaffed here. A restaurant needs more than 2 people in the entire front...
Read moreI love Thai food, but sometimes it’s hard to find parking in downtown Goleta. Luckily, they have parking in the back. It’s spacious too.
Inside the restaurant is immaculately clean. Like, the wood sparkles somehow.
The food, my God, the food is delicious. Each ingredient stands on its own, while complimenting each other regardless of spice level chosen. My husband chose sweet and sour chicken with rice on the side with medium heat and I chose the drunken noodles with Thai heat. The spice compliments the dishes rather than detracting from the flavor. I cannot begin to emphasize how difficult it is to find places that serve dishes to my spice preferences. This place will probably see my fat self back there again.

Read moreThe food was tasty, the garlic chicken being a tad on the dry side but well seasoned. The restaurant itself is nothing to look at from the outside, but inside it's quite pleasant, if a little warm. The service itself was nice and quick.
My lunch special looked quite pedestrian. For the price, that's okay, but the presentation reminded me of a diner, with the curry coming in a boring soup bowl and the plates feeling like cheap dinner ware one might get at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Perhaps the regular meals look more appealing to the eye?
Still, all things considered, I recommend visiting if you would like some Thai in Goleta. Your Place is too far and this is a...
