Paperback Alley Used Books — Local services in Goleta

What an absolute gem of a shop! I’ve lived in SB my whole life but have been carless for most of that so I really have to plan a trip to Goleta even though it’s not far. Taking the bus out to this shop from downtown was 1000000% worth it. The owner was SO KIND, helpful, and fun to chat with. The selection of books and the prices are unbeatable. While I love other local bookstores you just don’t stumble upon this kind of selection elsewhere. I wanted to get more books but we didn’t have the strength to haul more home without a car haha. If you love books then this is the place for you!! It has probably thousands of books. They had the 1 book I was looking for and couldn't find anywhere else. I left with 5 books but wanted more, flying back home so no room for more. I will be back next time I'm out here. Lady behind counter, I believe is the owner, she was very friendly and helpful. Price of book is on the 1st page in pencil. Came back into town and couldn't wait to see if they had the books I couldn't find at home......

My favorite bookstore in town and has been for 10 years. From classics to funky little gems; you can find all you need and more here for a fraction of the cost of a new book. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and has been running the shop for over a decade and is always so happy to chat, or help you find what you need or what you don’t know you need. Cant say enough.
