I only went in to have links taken out of my watch. The clerk berated me for buying online bc I was taking business away from local owners, however I had looked for my watch locally and only one store carried the brand, but not the style. Then he claimed that all students were the same and took business away from local merchants by buying online, and I tactfully let him know I was not a student, so he corrected himself and said "all young people". Then, he claimed to not be able to take any more links out of my watch, however I took it to another jeweler, only to have to pay another fee, but that jeweler happily took two more links out of my watch, so it fit properly. I will never go back there, I would rather pay more and drive farther to go elsewhere. Any business owner so close to a college campus should consider being nice to the clientele so that maybe he would get more business. The negativity isn't getting them...

I have been going to Jewelry Mart in Goleta for over 15 years. Alejandro is honest, with integrity. I've read some of these bad reviews, and it seems a bit one sided. If there was something wrong and you brought your jewelry back, he would fix it, if he was in the wrong. So I'm not buying these negative review stories. I have had an experience with him when he was selling a ring of mine. Something went south with the buyer, and he had already altered my ring from its original condition to the specifications of the potential new owner, who requested these changes. Not only did he tell me about it and take complete responsibility for it. He compensated me and I feel very happy about that compensation. I just read the other review on here. As a young person myself, I can say I was treated beyond well here, in fact I really like the owner, he is so nice and didn’t seem at all annoyed with all my questions and phone calls during the process of getting my engagement ring made. The prices were significantly lower than the other places I checked in town, for the exact same quality diamond with certification and metal.
