The pharmacy at this Walgreens has some EXTREMELY incompetent staff. If zero stars were an option, that's what it would receive. Please, do yourself a favor and drive to any other late night pharmacy for help. My husband had been treated at Urgent Care for gout. He was given 3 prescriptions. We took them to this pharmacy as our pharmacy of choice had closed. It should've been easy, drop off, give insurance card and come back in an hour to pick them up. We already use Walgreens. Nope. Called to check on the status as there were no notifications through the site, email, or text. Called, yeah, we have 2, they'll be done in 45. Uh, no, there are supposed to be 3. Well, we only have 2. Dude hangs up. Call back about 5 minutes later to see what happened to the 3rd script. They found it. Whew! 45 min wait, ok. I go to pick up scripts and they tell me my insurance didn't cover 2 of them. I go to call the insurance company and the gal behind the counter says with the discount card, they're pretty cheap. About $25 altogether. Not terrible and I'm aggravated so I decided to pay and call from my car. My insurance company says they never even ATTEMPTED to run it through. They verify all meds are covered at far better pricing. I go back in. I get arguments that the meds aren't covered. I say, well I called and was told differently. They check again. The pharmacist could not figure out how to get it to work and kept referring to Mercy Care when I'm clearly on BCBS of AZ which is in his hand. After nearly 30 minutes I talk him into calling customer service. Guess what? It worked!! They don't know how to read an insurance card or use their computer system. These are basic functions of the job. If this can not be done how do we know they are capable of measuring out correct doses of medication? Can they even read the prescription correctly? I'm not asking to be mean, I'm asking because I'm genuinely afraid for the lives of those who receive meds through them. Do NOT go there. I originally paid just under $25, after I force them to do it right it came to $5. My husband is also battling cancer...every dime is needed for his medical Bill's. I have never been in the presence of such...
Read moreI have had great experiences here in the past. Tonight not so much. I had a RX sent there from urgent care as my pharmacy was closed. I went through the drive thru to pick it up and the woman was barely speaking into the phone so I could not hear her. I asked her to speak up and she rudely opened the drawer and started screaming into it rather than speak louder and clearer into the phone. She explained to me they no longer take my insurance and she cannot do anything to help me and to go to CVS and have them call her. I asked why would that help and she is like SO I CAN FORWARD YOUR RX. I said okay, well can I get a print out of them? (I have not needed meds in some time so I had no idea this changed! It had been done for me in the past) and she yelled NO THAT WOULD BE LIKE SUPER ILLEGAL! I said okay, well can I just contact the urgent care and have it sent. She just yelled at us to go to CVS. So I did. Well after I left there, they never called(also a 24 hr pharm), so I tried calling them but their phone is off. So I call walgreen's to verify they had been called and it was sent. She answered the phone and proceeds to talk over me to tell me it is not their job to make sure it is sent and that CVS needs to call her not me. I need to go there and I didn't do what she said. At this point I cut her off and explained WHY I was calling and I just wanted to know if they had called. She left me on hold for five minutes after asking my name and came on and yelled into the phone they never called and there is nothing she can do. But in the past I have had them send electronic RX to a pharmacy that does have what I need, so I am unsure why she said they cant now. She did not want to answer any questions and made you feel like you were wrong for being there because she had better things to do. We all have better things to do than be sick and at walgreens for meds, but sometimes we have to do stuff we don't want to. But we don't have to be rude to others because we are doing something we do not like. And based on other reviews, Walgreen's needs to look into their pharmacy staff there because...
Read moreNo surprise that Walgreens is closing so many pharmacies in the next two years! I'm writing this as I'm holding - 51 minutes so far - to reach Walgreens pharmacy. I'm not sure if everyone knows that when calling your local Walgreens pharmacy regarding your prescriptions, your call is sent to a Call Center - not to the actual store. They answer the phone saying "Walgreens technician A." however the person you are talking to could be located anywhere. The information you receive from the call center rarely reflects what is going on with your actual prescriptions nor do they inform you that your medication is being filled at a "filling center" then shipped to the local Walgreens store. Of the last five prescriptions I've filled, only one was ready when I was told it would be and resulted in waiting an extra two to five days for medications. I've been on hold regarding two prescriptions, both of which have refills remaining, that I ordered on Saturday but I'm being told they are "still working on". I was told they'd be ready on Monday. I am far from the only person taking heart medication however the fact that my medication is still not ready and the length of my ongoing hold time, I'll probably end up in the Emergency Room before talking with a "technician" in their call center or receiving my medication. The only good thing? Knowing I'm not the only one having issues with every prescription - so many bad reviews, so much bias and negativity, maybe they should shut...
