STOP!!!! If you are looking for great Chinese food, look - no - more. WE FOUND IT!
After 4 1/2 yrs of living here, we FINALLY found Lucky Buddha on Litchfield Park and Indian School. It was near us all along. (We tried stopping a couple times, but it was closed each time we tried. :( so we gave up and forgot about it.) Totally sorry we didn't try to come here sooner!!!
Everything we ordered was terrific down to the crispy, fresh fortune cookies at the end!!
We ordered: • Mu Shu Pork (ordered extra pancakes and plum sauce! Great texture on the tortilla/pancakes, good flavor on the sauce. Tons if veggies done really well) • Honey Walnut Chicken 🍗 (crispy, fluffy, sweet, sticky and not greasy) •Chow Mein was the House Chow Mein and had good flavor and my favorite noodles for chow mein. (Not the super thick ones.) •Brocolli Beef. Good sauce, AL dente 🥦, Beef had good texture and was a good cut of meat (not really stringy pieces) •House Fried Rice had good texture, good amount of beef, chicken and shrimp. Great flavor. We got a sauce, not sure what it was for, but it was also good and had great flavor.
The staff was friendly, efficient and provided good service.
We are making this a favorite place. Highly recommend it. (Sorry no pictures, so good we...
Read moreGreat food. There menu is extensive and their prices are very reasonable. Been there several times and have ordered a different menu item each time. No matter what you order the food comes out hot and simply delicious. The staff are totally polite and you never have to ask twice for anything. They are popular especially around dinner time. Always busy but usually have a cleaned table waiting for the next customer who walks through the door. Our next visit we will have the Lobster Cantonese which has to be ordered 2 days in advance. It's made the 'real way' in white sauce. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed.
Update. Since Covid-19 the restaurant has been closed but has recently opened for takeout. Stopped by for my standard meal and the service was quick. Talking to the counter person I found out that the original chef left and the replacement they have now came from Panda Express. Anyway when I got home and ate, you can really taste the difference in the cooking. I think they need to bring back the old chef and offer him a raise. The taste of their food has changed, not for the good. I may go back or not. There was another Chinese restaurant i tried (takeout) and their food was fine. I may have found my restaurant...
Read moreDecent meal but missed a lot of targets.
Got a dinner take out order - the good? Food was prepared quickly. I'd say the price is fair to slightly upcharged.
The Beef Lo Mein was probably the favorite, had a good amount of flavor and serving size was good for the price.
The Pad Thai was also a good portion but lacked flavor in comparison to our previous outings, average at best. The flat egg noodles just don't do it like the thin ones.
The General Tso chicken, if you could call it that, tasted like sweet and sour chicken... It did not have the thicker consistency you would see from a joint on the East or West Coast, also instead of broccoli they throw in peppers and green beans. The breading/coating on the chicken was mushy and the fried rice tasted like stale white rice briefly tossed in soy sauce. This meal missed the mark all around, I've had a bigger portion with more flavor for about half the price...
Finally, we got an order of fried dumplings as a side/app and they were also mushy. Seems like crisp is not something to expect.
Not the worst experience and the staff is super friendly and helpful but the flavor and portions are lacking, especially...
