Beware of Unethical Business Practices at Worth Repeating in Grand Haven, MI
I had an extremely disappointing experience at Worth Repeating, and I feel compelled to warn others. I brought in a pack of diapers for evaluation, expecting the owner to determine a price before deciding whether to accept them. Instead of following through with that agreement, the owner knowingly sold them before finalizing anything with me—without my consent.
When I confronted her about it, she was fully aware of what she had done but showed zero accountability. Instead of an apology or a reasonable resolution, I was met with a dismissive attitude and no effort to make things right.
This is not how an honest business operates. Selling an item that wasn’t officially released to her, while knowing the circumstances, is completely unethical. If you value integrity, fairness, and respect as a customer, I strongly advise taking your business elsewhere.
Edit to respond to business owner: Your response is misleading and doesn’t reflect what actually happened. The diapers were not from WIC, and the claim that the clothing was filthy is simply untrue. If that were the case, you wouldn’t have taken the time to sort through them and purchase some.
The issue is that you sold an item before we had agreed on anything. There was no set price, no approval to sell, and no communication before making that decision. When I followed up, instead of taking responsibility, you were dismissive and unwilling to resolve the situation fairly.
This is not how a business should operate. Rather than addressing the mistake honestly, you’ve chosen to shift blame. Customers should be aware of how situations like this...
Read moreLove love love this store! I have bought, sold, and basically stolen from this store. HA HA. Brooke's $1 sales were always AMAZING! While I give most of my clothing to family and friends I did sell some more expensive pieces or items family/friends did not need through this store. I always felt the money earned was a fair amount and it took the stress off myself trying to sell/meet up with people, deal with cancellations/no shows. The other thing I really loved about Brooke's store is she always had nice, high end items that would last. I could always count on her store to find a last minute pair of dance shoes, Halloween costume piece, or a dress for an event. My girls and I always loved walking through the store and finding cute pieces, toys, and accessories. Lastly, I loooooved chatting with Brooke. She is so down to earth, friendly, funny, and fair. Parents, grandparents, kids, or anyone who knows a kid, this is the place to stop in. Thank you Brooke for always being there for the community!...
Read moreI have been shopping at this place for years, I have four grandkids, and I’m always looking for seasonal items to stretch the budget on things, I know they’re going to outgrow in a season. She always has what I’m looking for, and her prices are reasonable. With all the people that come and go in the store I was always impressed that she would remember what I was looking for whenever I came back in. If you’re someone who’s looking to get above top dollar on re-sell items, you should probably just go online and pick a site to sell on and try your luck there. This shop has been a staple in the community for a long time and she’s successful because she’s fair to sellers and buyers and she knows what people are looking for. She’s a business owner who prices...
