Why am I not surprised that the first large portion of reviews for the Grand Junction Petco are really bad and 1 star? I have had a really unpleasant experience now twice in the period of 'one week to the next' with the acting manager (assistant manager I presume) named Samantha. I wouldn't normally let it under my skin enough to write a bad review but twice in a week is really showing how truly little she cares about actually caring for a customer with small dollar amount discrepancies. During the first encounter with this unsmiling, lack of any customer service skills person, I actually called Petco corporate to see if they could provide authorization. In looking at the situation with as much objectivity as possible, the two situations were each 'one of kind' and very small - and based upon a recent past experience with a nice young cashier guy (in fact, last night the young lady who was actively trying to help me was very sweet and accommodating and had adjusted the total before Samantha stepped in) Bottom line, it's fine to be a hard line corporate rules person who isn't happy that a non-Petco container that holds a smaller amount of refillable litter was discounted before by a cashier and the one last night willing to follow suit: but really pissing off a customer who had already filled one small enough to transport in a backpack on a bike after the day turned dark and walk back, pour it out and walk away with nothing? She literally said: I will overcharge you for less litter and you can pay for 16 pounds when you have 10 - but undercharging you, Petco loses and I can't have that. Really bad customer service. Maybe a little training would do a long way to at least be pleasant and pretend to be 'apologetic' rather than rabidly tenacious in being argumentative and 'right' --- she clearly doesn't care if long term customers are ready to walk away like several of the other people reviewing before me. Once the $10 customer service credit issued by corporate for her demeanor last week is used it might be the case here. It is a mystery to me why someone who is so rigid and inflexible and unpleasant with a customer in a retail store would want the position of acting manager. Goodness knows if that is how she treats fellow humans, I do start to wonder about the reviews of the lack of care and cleanliness of the tiny beings caged in the store. To contemplate calling ahead and gauging when that person has a day off isn't something a store would normally...

The owner Marvin on several occasions had Ben asked by myself " while I look at an animal in the reef animal section " is there anything u are going to do to save this animal. And no real response is ever generated ...... I have spent thousands of dollars in this facility and always tried to save the dieing due to negligence but due to negligence and greed this man never chooses to do the right thing he lets them die ..... Either full price no garontee or anything...... 80$ for a dieing fish no warranty and or refund or discount even or try and save their helpless livestock ....It's Christmas Eve and I have had saved enough for the porcupine puffer I had been watching and named ET three weeks ago ... And due to once again lack of research on the species... He has issued ..... He had been scared and he puffed up .... Some may find funny but without being able to completely deflate he was exhausted from fighting the boyence of his own body and was stuck to the pump dieing I offered half price for the chance of trying to save the animals life and with no regard of the animal no such deal whatsoever was achieved. No one will be there tomorrow to help he is a goner on Christmas day due to Marvins (owner) lack of care for this animals life he said nothing towards the thought of saving this animals life . I have seen this too many times to ignore the problem any longer . I will never spend another dime in this facility again nor do I recommend any other person in junction .... I've had enough with the greed and negligence will right the same bad review everywhere possible and through the word of mouth the Marine hobbiests in the valley is a small group they will all hear what I have to say soon and at least my business will never take place in this facility again ..... Merry Christmas and to the poor puffer dieing on this day for marvin to be at home and not care at all about the verry animals he exploites for his own profit .........
Read moreWish I could give them 0 stars! I'm trying to by a bed for my dog and it was supposed to be in stock. I got there and ofcourse not. I was told to order on line so I did. 9 days ago! I received an email when it was shipped and arrival date. I tracked the package when it didn't show up only to find out it was never shipped ! I called and after being put on hold twice they had no answers about my order. When or even if it would be shipped. OFCOURSE THEY TOOK MY MONEY! I was told that I would get a email within 48 hrs. So the email stated that they are looking into it with no help or answers of when or if it would be sent. Basically still uh We don't know anything about your order after 9days. Nothing to say about how they will address orfix this . THERE STILL KEEPING THE MONEY THOUGH for the product they can't find and shipping that they said happen, but yet it never left there building.
