We wanted to try something new, so we came here for dinner before the Banff Film Festival. We called ahead for a dinner reservation. The guy who answered was more than accommodating and very welcoming! We learned they were short staff, as both bartenders were out sick and it was our server's second night. However, they were all spot on! The restaurant was full during the dinner rush (5:30-6:50). My husband had the blue cheese burger and I the walu special. The french fries and bread service were sinfully delightful! However, we paired it with muscles in white wine sauce (highly recommend)! The fish tasted slightly salty, but otherwise the food was incredibly delicious! The blue cheese selection in the hamburger was rich and creamy! We could not eat all the food, but we tried. The desserts looked so amazingly naughty that we decided to come back for dessert a few days later. The restaurant only had a few patrons (7:45-8:30), so it made our double date night dazzling! I tasted the raspberry cheesecake and the beignet. Both so delicious, but I would buy a slice of cheesecake and surprise a friend with that over flowers any day! It is more experience than I would prefer or in my budget. However, we will keep this place in our radar for special occasions. They do have a breakfast and brunch menu that I might have to try with girlfriends or as a treat with my soon-to-be daughter-in-law when they come to town.

We ordered the Charcuterie Board for 2 as a starter, the Steak Frites and Duck Confit as our entrees, in addition to a bottle of Pinot Noir (La Roque). The board was much bigger than we anticipated—we didn’t end up finishing it just to save our appetites for dinner. The selection of cheeses and meats were also extensive and delicious. The Duck Confit was stellar, very moist and well seasoned. Some of the best duck I’ve ever had! Steak Frites was so-so, the sauce used was too “earthy” for my taste. Our waiter, though endearing and very friendly, seemed quite new and could’ve benefitted from some guidance on the menu and serving etiquette (he wasn’t too sure how to open our bottle of wine 🥴). Overall, we’ll be returning to try their pastries/lunch menu!

This is my first review of 317 after they rebranded, it was only for brunch and the review will be updated as I visit more. That said the interior space is comfortable and the staff is awesome and super helpful. They didn’t have the breakfast croissant since it’s Christmas Eve but it sounds p good. The pear pastry was really good, the quiche was OK though I like it with more veggies and a firmer set on the eggs, overall flavor was good. The plant based sausage roll/pastry thing was a little too much for me; think sausage log wrapped in puff pastry. The mimosas were great. I’m looking forward to trying the dinner there and updating the review. If you like French pastries you can’t go wrong but it’s not quite a brunchy place like some other restaurants.

I visited this restaurant and I was met with an unpleasant experience. I’ve only heard good things about this place. I took my family to have a nice dinner to watch the float parade and my experience was appalling and I was disgusted by an attitude of a waitress named Ana. She was talking bad about her co worker and then proceeded to shove me in the entrance when I was going back out to my seat. No apology from her. This was so unprofessional. I am so glad that the waitress I got named Fabiola convinced me to stay and convinced me to order my food and turned this very unpleasant visit in to a wonderful experience. Still very upsetting I had to encounter this situation in a restaurant of this type. That’s the only reason I’m putting 2 stars this does not reflect the wonderful service of Fabiola. Oh by the way I spoke to the person in charge and nothing seemed to be done.

Came back to the reviews I can’t post a new review so here I am back with another bad experience! This place is horrible, as a paying customer giving this restaurant another opportunity. The manager Matthew decided to send an employee to the table to tell my family and I to leave because he couldn’t handle an honest truthful review. I got kicked out and the same waitress that shoved me laughed as we got kicked out. This is absolutely disgusting and poorly ran restaurant. The discrimination is insane!! No apology and the continuous racism is repulsive. I have recommended this place time after time and now I deeply regret ever recommending this disgusting place that treats people according to their tantrums. I’m disgusted I can’t say it enough. Maybe the manager needs to grow up and come say the things instead of hiding behind an employee and it’s sad to see how he mistreats his Hispanic employees as well!...

Ordered the special for dinner. It was veal tips with mushroom over pasta. It was highly recommended by the waitress. I rarely order veal as I hate the whole idea of it. However, because it was so highly recommended I ordered it. It consisted of brown gravy with mushrooms over noodles. It was absolutely tasteless, so bland I was astonished that this was the special and recommended. My friend said their meals were fine. However, the next morning, my friend called and said actually their food was not so great either. I questioned why they didn’t speak up at the time because I actually did tell the owner my food was very bland. I spoke with another friend who said she will never go there again because the food has been consistently bad. I do not know what happened because a French restaurant with French chef should be excellent. One of the owners actually said the taste is made for the American pallet. I was astonished. I said I would go to an American restaurant if that’s what I was looking for. Perhaps if people give truthful reviews they will improve their food and prepare it the French way! I will say they have a great happy hour and a very good spicy salmon dip, but their bread isn’t as crusty or tasty as it initially was. When they first opened, the bread was the best French baguette in the...
