Went 12/6/21, Baker Street Room
Premises:
Everything was clean, simple, obviously some care was taken to create a fun 'entry' experience. The entry, foyer, all of it was nicely setup and welcoming.
The Game - Baker Street Room - (no spoilers!):
Intro to the game was primarily via a short video clip, then the puzzles started before even getting into the room! Room itself was spread out, easily accommodated our party of six people. Nothing was broken, everything was in good repair, nicely detailed. VERY few red hearings or rabbit trails, no wasted time spent with pointless tasks that didn't progress the room completion.
90% of the puzzles themselves were straightforward assuming you put your mind to the task. 10% of the puzzles were a touch finicky, however the owner was happy to help with clues. The clues were VERY specific to our puzzle - it was VERY obvious he was closely following our progression - no 'arm chair with a cell phone' game masters here!
Few actual combination / directional locks - this was not a 'lock to lock to lock to lock' style escape room, there were MANY styles of puzzles involving colors, mechanical items, observation puzzles, etc, etc. VERY fun to play, always different, solving puzzles felt rewarding!
Conclusion:
It was obvious the owners cared about this business - they were very welcoming, paid close attention to our progression throughout the room, even had a very fun 'hidden' birthday surprise included - they went above and beyond. The room was more on the 'budget' side of things, but the care, attention to detail, the clues, the mechanics were all far above average - THIS is a great business, highly recommend the Baker St room, you won't regret choosing 'Solve It'...
Read moreOk I wanted to give this a 5 star but I had a bad experience just as the mom on the outside of the room I have it an extra star for the happiness the kids had while in the room. So it started off kinda weird my guest who arrived were welcomed by being scrutinized for coming early then when we arrived I had to tell them I was asked to come a little early for all the kids. Then all the kids came out and the woman who helped the kids was great but the gentlemen made they say kinda bad. He kept making us feel like we were an inconvenience to be there. They have two seats for guest but I needed to be outside the room just in case one of the kids needed to come out. He came up and told us we needed to wait outside because a big group of eight was coming in in 10 mins when I tried to explain that we had a birthday party for 8-10 years olds in the room and I needed to be out there in case he kind walked off before I could talk. I went outside and guess what not chairs no nothing so I waited and 20 mins later people still had not arrived. 5 more mins later I said yeah I’m going inside and the group of get this 4 people walked In To do their room. I stood outside for 2 more mins and the mad margrets guy was outside with a leaf blower blowing sand and dirt towards us by the door of the escape room. So I walked inside but we kinda got a little glared at but we waited inside anyways. I really was hoping for a great experience for sure. The kids had a blast and got cupcakes in the chest that we ate outside of their doors standing off 1st street but again the kids had fun I just didn’t have a great one as the mom and paying party. I hope to have a better experience in the future...
Read moreHaving never done an escape room before my adult children and I went as part of our father's day weekend celebration. We took on Pirate's Cove as it was recommended for newbies. Quite possibly the most fun i have had in quite some time. The room itself transported us and time stood still. Our host (the disembodied voice from beyond) offered help from time to time and we managed to find the treasure with four minutes to spare. We couldn't quit talking about how much fun we had and cannot wait to go back for the Victorian London room. We were allowed a peek inside and boy oh boy were we excited! We hear tell that a medieval room is in the works as well! Our hosts were warm, engaging, helpful, and the facility itself is exceptionally well done....
