Never has an experience been so unbelievably terrible as to where I felt compelled to leave a review so that others could exercise caution before going somewhere. This is the 2nd experience for both my wife and I, yes slow learners but we hoped to give them a chance, and the spa did not disappoint in out-doing themselves, they actually got worse from the first bad experience. Booking out a month in advance in something that is not out of the ordinary at times and that was not the problem. My massage was set up for the day prior to my wife's. Upon showing up for the massage, I was told the scheduler has made a mistake and switched the appointment names, mine for the following day and my wife's for my time today. Instead of an easy switch being made, I was told the masseuse scheduled for my wife would not massage men and that I was out of look after waiting a month. Now for my wife's appointment the next day. After arriving at 10 for a nail appointment, she did not get recognized or greeted as the desk staff was too busy chatting with somebody about their work to check her in...until 10:18. She should have used the long wait time not to only dodge the rude bullets thrown at her but perhaps to reconsider ever coming here at all. But hey, they couldn't mess up the complimentary mimosa so maybe they should try switching professions? But the nails were done right so at least they paid attention during their 10 week beauty school course. Yeah for pass / fail grading. Time to pay but not left off the hook yet, thanks to a wonderful package we signed up with at the neighboring Club Northwest, we were told we would receive 15% off for Spa services. Apparently no one told the spa this or the raised-in-a-barn rude front desk worker who said she would honor this only once and never again. Now to her massage later that day at 1:45, this is where the spa truly shines. Round two and the front desk is ready with more comments, making sure she is in fact there for her massage that we scheduled a month prior since they screwed up my massage time the day before. Now it's time for her relaxing 90 min massage, my wife was hopeful for a redeeming experience, my how those hope balloons get popped. After 5 min minutes of casual get to you know you chat, my wife was hoping for a spa like experience, but what awaited was over an hour of illicit stories with sailor swearing and frequent pauses in the massage to tell stories with her hands. At one point she moved my wife's neck to the side for a "stretch" and pushed down so hard that she cracked her neck and my wife has had a searing headache with pain ever since. At least we have a good chiropractor to sort it out. Where were we, oh the massage, well the masseuse must be a good story teller because she got so enthralled with her own tale she "ran out of time" on a 90 minute massage, which she ended 15 minutes early, and decided to drape hot towels on my wife's legs instead of doing any massage work. Oh goody, probably the best part of the massage, although truthfully the best part was when it was over my wife says. Unfortunately this facility should look at relocating to an even more rural location, perhaps...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāll begin with the pros and end with the cons. The Club is a great gym when it comes to equipment and a variety of areas for different training purposes. (Although I wish they had some weighted belts available for use). Cleanliness seems to be maintained and the staff (in my experience) have been helpful and kind. The amenities and machines in the locker room are a great plus as well. As a whole Iāve enjoyed training there even with the cons. Now for the consā¦as some have mentioned the pool does seem to be on the ādirtierā side but Iām not really deterred enough to stay out of the pool. Second, I have noticed that maintenance in the locker room is lacking. For example, dust accumulating on the filters/covers for the HVAC system are dirty, the common entry way doors are squeaky, and the small area āshelfā for hygiene products in the showers are loose and in need of some new rubber caulk. I think the attention to detail is also lacking and for the amount we pay it should be top priority. I will admit it is our responsibility as Club members to help where we can and Iāve taken some steps to make the experience there a little more enjoyable with some skills Iāve gained over time. Additionally, it is true the mist or wet sauna has been down for a long amount of time. With all that said I think the amount we pay should reflect the condition and details of the Club and while I enjoy it there greatly, it definitely needs some attention. At the end of the day I love it there a lot and will continue going. Itās my hope this review will help. (Update): Following this review I attempted to call and contact the āownerā who responded to my review. I called two times and left a voicemail with my personal information. Unfortunately, it seems the responses are more superficial and not a real effort to correct issues with the facility. Following my review nothing in the facility was addressed (I checked multiple times) whoever is managing this facility is failing in some of the most basic ways. Finally, Iāll be lowering my review to 3 stars because of the lack of integrity management...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn May I asked that my membership be suspended because I cannot use the gym without the kid zone area available for drop ins. I received an email back:
May 21st: Hi Charity, Thank you for reaching out. We have you on freeze while our doors are closed and have issued a refund for your last two payments. Refunds normally take 7-10 business days. We also have you on our list to be on freeze while we are not able to have KidZone open for drop ins. Please let us know if there is anything more we can do to support you. And we canāt wait to see you soon!
Well Together. Jennifer
October 30th: Hi Charity, The response below does state that your freeze would be in effect until our door reopened. We reopened our doors on May 26th. I have notes from July when you spoke to Rebecca that you would continue your membership after learning our Aquatics Center was open. You are free to dispute those charges with your bank. If you do we will deactivate your membership and you will need to pay those funds to return to Club Northwest. Well Together. Jennifer
They kept charging me back in May Iāve had to file two disputes with my bank already. It plainly says in the email from Jennifer in May that my membership would be on freeze until kid zone was open for drop ins and it still is not. Iāve let things go with them several times before but Iām done with it. Never said I would continue my membership in July. Paying member for 5 years and treated this way you should be ashamed...
