This location was super busy, which is pretty normal for In-N-Outs everywhere. Went inside to order food to go, and to use the restroom while on a road trip.
The restrooms were nice and clean. Lots of stalls available which was great because tons of folks were queued up to go.
The staff were friendly and doing their best to keep pace with the crowds. My wait time to order and get my food was manageable.
I wasn’t sure what to order or what modifications were available because their menus are very simple. Apparently there’s a secret menu you can order from, which I wish I would’ve known about/remembered to look up in advance. It was really noisy so it wasn’t easy to try to communicate with the cashier about different options and they didn’t really try to offer to suggestions. Oh well. I ordered a basic cheeseburger, fries, and chocolate shake. I received a vanilla shake, which I didn’t realize until I left. Kind of a bummer but not a huge deal, given how busy they were. It was the lunch rush, so I get it. However, the burger was mediocre and the fries were strangely soggy and seemed undercooked. Not golden or crispy. The burger patty itself was pretty small, but the fresh veggies on it were really nice.
Honestly I probably wouldn’t have gone here to begin with were it not for the fact that my friends wanted to stop here during our travels. I don’t know if I’ll go back because it wasn’t worth the hype for me personally. (I’ve been before to other locations over the years and have never been especially wowed by any In-N-Out.)
If you’re looking for a very basic, Americana-type diner with a hint of nostalgia, this is definitely the...
Read moreThe worst IN-N-OUT ever!
The burgers meat patty are super slim with old lettuce and tomatoes, shakes mediocre at best, fries have a thinner cut than all other IN-N-OUT I've been to, and most of the time dry inside, as if they were frozen... similar to McDonald's.
50% of he time the meals are not prepared as ordered: asked for extra lettuce, we get no lettuce, asked for no tomato, we get tomato, asked for no salt on fries we get extra salt... etc.
Also we went there with the kids and a third of those occasions, my 2 had allergy reactions.
Every single time, we specified very clearly, the allergen he is sensitive to... but I guess no one was trained on what it means and what to do before preparing the meal for someone that has allergies.
And it's not too much, since they only do burgers: just reserve a section of the grill for allergy and make sure is clean and clear, but still strip it clean and use the cleaned area and clean utensils to avoid cross contamination, that's it.
But obviously they do not know, (or do not care) and do not follow any of those step consistently: 50% of the time we've got problems, thanks God we noticed on time, administer Cetirizine ASAP, or Epi-Pen would have been needed.
So the substandard of the product offered, plus the above problem make it obvious that the Grants Pass IN-N-OUT is not for anybody that like the quality product served in most of the rest of them... and...
It is absolutely dangerous for anyone with allergies!!! Very, Very...
Read moreThis was our first time ever at one of these. We had been hearing about these places forever, but this trip to the West coast was our first opportunity to see for ourselves.
It may just be the one restaurant in Grant's Pass, Oregon, but I really can't recommend this place over any other burger joint in this price point. The burgers were ordinary, the fries were greasy, and front staff was less than helpful (to the point of making us decide not to ever try one of these restaurants again).
The one bright spot was the manager (I believe), a woman named Faith who came to our table afterward to speak with us personally. While I won’t go into the details of the problems with the preparation of our meals, she offered a card good for one meal at one their restaurants. Whether or not I decide to stop at another of these, I would have to give this woman a high recommendation for her regard for customer relations and satisfaction. She took the time during a busy part of the day to try and make her customer happy. Personally, this is the sort of behavior I seek in my own employees, and is a non-tangible trait that I believe should be prized.
Overall, not a terrible experience. But it points up the difference that good (and sometimes not so great) employees can make...
