I've been here numerous times & this by far, hands down was the worst most unpleasant time. It was later in the evening, so maybe the blond server was tired, although he seemed to be just fine & polite to everyone else other than the gentleman that had been waiting he said 20 minutes at the bar waiting for him to take his order. The guy had to get up & ask the blond server if he could place his order, to which the guys & I were both a little taken back by the snappy attitude he was given in response. Then when I was finally helped, with taking my order, the blond server asked that I pay my bill an order for him to put my order in, but with the gentleman before me that was getting a order to go as well he didn't require him pay his bill so that he could place his order, nor did the other lady getting a to go order, nor the 3 tables that were seated & eating there. Everyone that order their food a few minutes before me or at the same time as me they all got their food within 20 to 30 minutes & the lady that order her food after I ordered mine, & ordered more food than I did received her food before I received mine & in less than 30 minutes. When the cooks were finished cooking my food, they rang the bell to inform the server that it was finished & the server did not respond due to him talking to the other server & a customer. A few minutes later, the cooks rang the bell yet again, but this time they hit the bell with more passion & over & over again to which, when the other server went in, grabbed my order. When she came & gave me my food, she placed it in front of me said here your order & turned & walked away, not saying a word other than "no cilantro." So I looked inside & I had ordered an order of white rice which wasn't there. So I asked him for my order of rice. He came looked to see if it was in the bag, which then he went to get it. As he walked away, I asked if I could please have utensils, napkins, & soy sauce & I guess he didn't hear me because he only came back with my rice. Put it in my bag & walked away.
If I ever go back there again I WILL refuse to pay before I receive my food in hand because then he might be more inclined to earn his tip instead of me already giving him his tip, so then he feels he can be rude & not do his job properly.
I guess it was too much to ask of him to take my order & then after the chefs cooked it, packaged it up, than put into the bag, all he had to do was to put the container of rice that I'd ordered, & some napkins, utensils, & soy sauces into the bag was asking far too much for the $5.00 tip that I'd already given before my order was allowed to be placed.
So the food might have been good. However, if the service sucks then why would I not only waste my time but also spend my hard earned money to be treated that way? I wouldn't care if the food was darn near free or even free to be treated. That way is totally...

We got takeout here last night (they only offer takeout). I’m from Seattle and have many choices for amazing Thai. I wasn’t expecting much and Ban Mai beat expectations.
There’s only fives things you need to know about this place 1. Garlic. 2. Garlic. 3. Garlic. 4. Garlic. 5. Garlic. When we pulled up and parked 100 ft from the door and got out of the car my first thought was “Garlic”. My wife went in and got the food and put it in the back seat. Garlic. We went to our room at the Hampton. Carrying it in to our room I said to my wife “our room is going to smell like garlic”. The green papaya salad had about a half bulb of raw garlic. I really liked it, was above average for what we get in Seattle. My beef with vegetables over wide noodles was intense garlic and pretty good, probably average for Seattle. My wife wasn’t very crazy about her stir fried vegetables with deep fried tofu (it was drowning in sauce).
A couple hours after dinner my wife had to get something from the car. When she got in the elevator with two other people they immediately began talking about a strong odor. My wife didn’t say anything as they finally decided it was a smell of garlic coming from someone who brought takeout to their room. The last thing she heard them say as she got off the elevator was “I hope it was better for them than for...
Read moreUpdate: I have been coming here for over 6 years now, and I don't really have any updates, because it's still just as awesome! Very good, as in awesome, food. Large portions, perfectly plated and served quickly. Good selection, and lots of vegetarian options. Very friendly and rapid staff, and overall a very good atmosphere, with happy subdued conversations from couples and large and small groups of family and friends.
This is a very nice place, well decorated, clean and neat and comfortable.
