Update: I know I gave Super 8 Wyndham a negative review about 2 months ago, but let me add this. Management reached out to me fast and apologized for the experience. They also reimbursed me a part of the payment, which I appreciate. In my view, this should earn the hotel 2 extra stars... From 1 to 3 🌟
If there's a negative 1, I would have given that score to this hotel. I've never booked a room at a Super 8, but since it's now managed by Wyndham, I took the plunge. I booked a room for my husband's overnight stay. First, my card was charged twice, since the front desk claimed that my card has not been charged for the confirmed reservation. I had to call my bank to get the double charges straightened out. Second, my husband was given a dirty room, with an indescribable stench, that he had to flip his entire bed at 3 am to be able to sleep. He attempted to ask for a change of room, but it was not accommodated, since it was early morning. Now, he has to drive back home for more than 10 hours without any sleep! I paid more than $233 for a Super 8 room where my husband never got a respite. It's not only a bad experience. It's a very sad experience for me because I've loved Wyndham-run hotels and have been a loyal patron for so many years... My only suggestion is, if Wyndham had to take over this Super 8, they should have revamped the entire place. Plus they should replace the front desk person who works the graveyard shifts. She needs to be retrained on good, professional and respectful customer...
Read moreTHERE'S NO ELEVATOR. I normally don't review hotels and motels since they're all largely similar for short stays but I would not stay here again. There's so many other options. This cost just a little cheaper than other places but you get a lot less.
The breakfast was awful. No protein...not even eggs, no waffles...just bland rubbery pancakes and yogurt.
The entire room smelled like BO which I know isn't necessarily the motels fault but it was just so outdated and unpleasant..when you blast the fan in the bathroom...they need to replace the bathroom filter in 121 it smells bad.
The toilet is low, outdated and not low flow.
There's NO elevator. Again. Wish we knew this before because we had 3 suitcases and 3 giant boxes to get up and down stairs. Good God why...this is a 1 star motel not 2 star.
It wasn't even a price issue I just wish we stayed somewhere better but the location happened to be right for our trek this time. Never again though!
Positives...staff are so nice and the pool...very much and often out of towels...was otherwise clean. The bed was really clean and plush. The bed felt like a higher class than the motel so good job cleaning staff!!!! Only reason why this is a 2 star. Lovely beds.
This ties as one of the top 2 worst places we've stayed, and it was $115/night after...
Read moreThis is a business that doesn't care about their customers or accessibility.
It's has three levels. ALL of them accessible from the lobby with stairs. You can access the second floor through the emergency exit in the back. But there's no luggage cart to carry your belongings. I watched three couples struggle making multiple trips to their car to achieve what could be done with one luggage cart.
Why doesn't the motel spring for a cart? Because they put the bottom live before the customer.
The exit door is a hazard to open from the inside. You have to throw all of your weight into the crash bar to get it to open. In an emergency, I'm not sure a mobility challenged Indio could do it.
The rooms are ok. OLD, poorly lite, and the TV remote doesn't work well, but it's a room with a bed, shower & toilet. All of which were clean.
The last foot or so of the door closing is terrifying. It just SLAMS shut. Accidentally put a hand in there to stop it and you could lose a finger. If I had kids, I'd be scared. Plus, the sound of doors slamming all morning as people leave is disturbing.
The front desk staff was friendly enough; making accommodations for my issue by putting me in the second floor.
Sure, you could stay here, but there are other options that are probably more accessible and...
