Oct 11, 2024 Bermuda Gold, Custom and Consignment Jeweler. In 2010 I had purchased a lovely diamond ring from Bermuda, it was a consignment piece . Over the years I received countless compliments on this ring, but life goes on and it was time to make changes. I took my ring back to Bermuda because they knew the history and they are a Consignment Jeweler. Debbie recognized me and reminded me that a refund was sent in 2023 for the poor handling I posted regarding sizing a ring. She agreed to consign my 2010 ring on Tuesday, Oct 8th. This morning Oct 11, I received a call from Debbie informing me that she could not display my ring for consignment until I "take down" my 2023 Google Review. I made an immediate trip to retrieve my diamond ring. Now looking at past Reviews, there is a pattern of no apology, no taking ownership, until pressed. There is no reason to "take down" my 2023 post as there is no reason to take down this 2024 post.
Oct 11, 2024 update on 2023 post. Bermuda Gold, Custom and consignment jeweler. The owner had claimed the matter was "sorted", but there was no apology until I "Updated" in 2023. Only then was there an apology and a refund.
Update 2023: The owner did contact me and acknowledged that mistakes were made on every level, except that I eventually did get my ring back. No compensation for the delay, lack of follow up, not doing the work on site. She did say this was not the norm. I seldom post reviews, but I felt this experience needed to be shared.
I took a silver ring to be sized, was told one week, $50 because "we have to take special care of the pearl". After 10 days, I checked on it, it was not ready. After almost a month, they still had not called me so I called. They called me back to say it wasn't back from the jeweler in Dallas. Thinking I was supporting local business, I was surprised to learn my ring had been sent out, hence the excessive charge to ship and resize. First, I was not told my ring was shipping out, second they didn't bother to check on the status, third I imagine part of the expense was in the FedEX shipping. I complained, but was still expected to pay. That will be the last...
Read moreUPDATE:: 5 months after the original work was completed I recieved a call from the owner "Debbie". SHe was very apologetic and wanted to make the wrong a right. She was fantastic to deal with and they completed the work that was orginally paid for. The work was fantastic and was completed timely. She definitely earned more of my business, and would refer others there, BUT only deal with her. edited my original review to 4 stars. Friendly staff, but didn't receive the work that was quoted. Ended paying for what was quoted though because I wanted my necklace. Necklace chain broke in half, they repaired that portion perfect satisfactory. But I identified 2 other areas of weakness along the chain and was given a price to have those areas soldered to help "beefen up" those weak spots as well. Those 2 other weak spots were not even touched. When questioned, the lady said they can't do it. $150 seems kinda pricey for one small soldered joint...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would regarding their products and customer service. I dropped off my daughter’s silver college ring just to be cleaned. When I picked it up they had antiqued it! They took it into the back and I could hear them using a machine to try and scrape out the black. Gave it back to me and it was all scratched and dull. I told them it was unacceptable. They returned it to their jeweler. No apology given. Weeks later I went to pick it up and it looked the same. No apology. They sent it to Balfour. Several weeks later I went to pick it up and it still did not look good. The ring wasn’t even a year old. They sent it back to Balfour. Several weeks later we finally got it back it good condition. Still no apology. No refund. During the entire process from mid December to mid April we never got one apology and they made us feel like we were putting them out. I would never...
