I was so impressed with this store and staff, that I HAD to review it as soon as I walked out! I was searching for a Mother's Day gift for my mom, a difficult woman to shop for, who already has everything, and buys anything she wants. I walked into what I thought was Lola and Jack's, only to discover that they are actually in THREE suites in the building they share with a bakery. The sweet, cheerful owner approached me and asked if I was finding everything okay, and when I showed her what I might buy, she took me to another room, and unwrapped a similar item that had just arrived (which was exactly what I was looking for). Their store has funny, quirky, pretty, homey, heartfelt, yummy, fragrant, fashionable, decorative, and personalized gifts for every type of friend, family member, co-worker, foodie, homemaker, cook, and you! The owner told me that they had just opened when coVid began, and they are still struggling to get a foothold. So if you happen to be on Mill Street in downtown Grass Valley, please check out this store, and meet their friendly, accommodating staff! I would love to see them thrive...they deserve it! They made my Mother's Day gift search easy (except I had a hard time choosing which item to buy)! Thank you,...
Read moreKaren has the most extraordinary gift for creating an environment you never want to leave. She endures my annual marathon visits when I come to visit my daughter and always remembers my face. I could talk to her for hours and she never makes me feel like she's tired of my company even though I stay for HOURS. Karen has a knack for creativity and relatability that so many shop owners seem to miss. Her kindness and hospitality is always felt. I often feel like I could sit at the counter and just enjoy a cuppa tea, make myself at home and talk about anything the wind blows by. She and her shop are a treasure. I've never regretted a purchase after I come home. You must visit the adorable mice that live in the back lol. I get the feeling that This woman's home isn't far from looking the same way the store does. That says a lot about her love of what she does! Love this shop!!! Thank you...
Read moreVery, very rude and unpleasant British woman working tonight. Follows you around watching every love you make, lies, makes for a very uncomfortable shopping experience. I was going to buy something but just left instead. It's sad too because this shop had a special memory for me from 10 years back when it was called junk in the trunk and the lovely owner set me up with chalk paint when I was going through a rough time suffering with infertility. Since then I've had babies and cancer and chalk paint has always been my go-to through it all, all because of this shop. It's a shame what it's turned into. There is no reason to be unpleasant to people. Spread...
