This disaster of an experience began on November 17, 2018 at approximately 7am at the Greenbelt location. Three weeks prior to the day of my appointment, I had a consultation with senior hairstylist, Rene W, where we discussed the services I wanted; a weave installation ($500) and the hair (2 bundles for $150/bundle) for a total of $800. I also showed her a picture of the hairstyle I wanted so it would be clear. I was completely sticker shocked by the price but my girlfriend, whose hair always looks exquisite, referred me to Renee so I thought I was in good hands and the price would be well worth it. Little did I know that I would be wearing an upside down mortgage on my head. So when I arrive to the salon, Rene does not greet me or saying anything while I’m waiting. Rene’s assistant, Camille, washed, blow-dried and braided my hair. Camille is an amazing assistant and Rene is lucky to have her. When it was time for Rene to install the weave, I told and showed her two very tender spots on my head and asked her to be gentle around those areas. In a very nasty tone she responded, “Well why is it tender?” In my mind that doesn’t even matter but I know but I’m asking you to gentle and who are you to question me!?!?! As she approached those tender spots she was not gentle so naturally I jumped up and said “Ouch” and her response was, “What’s the problem? I’m not even touching your hair; I’m touching the net on your hair.” The net was right on the tender spot of my head so that’s why I am jumping. YOU ARE HURTING ME. Did she care? NO. She continued to rough house my head and be rude while installing the weave. Once she finished the installation she said she was going to wash my hair and shape it up. This is my first time getting a real weave so I didn’t know what that meant (remember that as the story continues). After the dryer went off I was sitting there for 10 min with no Rene in sight. I went upstairs to see if she was there and her response was, “Who sent you up here?” I said, “Well I was waiting for you and you didn’t even have the decency to check on me.” Then she tells me to go back downstairs. So I’m waiting for another 10 minutes…she eventually comes downstairs to “shape me up” and my hair looks NOTHING like that picture I sent her; it looked like her hairstyle…which is not what I wanted. When she finished she said, “Do you like it?” I said, “well…I didn’t ask for bangs and it’s a lot shorter than I asked. I told you I work out a lot & I need to be able to tie my hair back.” Her response, “I didn’t cut much and you can push the bangs back.” Its like every time I voiced a concern/issue she always had a nasty response as opposed to a solution. Who is the customer here?!?!?! So now I am really upset because my hair looks terrible and Rene is not interested in fixing it to my liking and at this point it’s 2:15pm so I am beyond ready to get out of the salon b/c I had been there since 7am!!! When I go to check out I get a receipt for $1,010!!!!!! I’m like, “Is this my bill!?” I requested to see an itemized receipt and on the receipt it had 3 bundles, when she said I only needed two, and a haircut for $75. I immediately find Rene and I asked her if this is mistake b/c I know she told me 2 bundles and I didn’t see an extra bundle anywhere. So apparently when she was being rude and rough housing my head she used an additional bundle but did not tell me. I didn’t need two bundles b/c I have a small head and face so with 3 bundles it looks like my head is swimming in hair; I can’t even see my own face. Oh, and that “shape up” that I didn’t ask for was a $75 haircut. When I asked Rene about that her response was, “I cut your hair so that’s a haircut; everything here is a la carte.” Renee conned me out of an additional $225 on top of the, ugly expensive & overpriced weave installation. She had a very rude disposition and overall negative energy. I was so mad I had to go home and meditate because I spent $1,010 on bad service and a hairstyle...
Read moreI had an appointment today with Patrica who is totally awesome. BUT NEVER EVER will I step foot in Cole Steven's again all thanks to no experience with children "Olga". My 7year old was being shampooed by a young man whom it was clearly he had very little experience. I had to stop the shampooing due to he had SOAKED my little girl dress all around, water was all over the floor, all over her my child was shaking, silently crying. I got up to tell Patrica what was happening without even saying anything they already knew. A nice young lady offered to blow dry my daughter for her body was soaking wet, put her clothes in the dryer. After calming my baby girl the same young lady finished shampooing her. Patrica finished her hair beautiful. Upon paying I was told $85 for shampoo, curl and trim. I said no I need it discounted for the horrible shampoo experience my little girl just endure, she was traumatized by this experience. She goes tell "Olga" who sends a message of an offer for the next time an infusion treatment or some kind of treatment, we are talking about my 7 year old. So I go to talk to Ms Olga telling her a free treatment of any kind is not acceptable, I will pay $75 for my child was traumatized of being soaked, clothes had to be removed, she looks at my child and say, you are not traumatized are you maam..WOW, I became livid, I yelled at her Talk to me not my child. Then she begin to lie that I came in yelling at her not telling the whole story because she wasnt there to know what happened. Then she gets cocky saying I'm the one who makes the decision, you happy with the way her hair look now right. I became outrage at this so called manager, whose customer service was that of someone from hell. As she try to paint a derogatory picture of me because I'm now yelling, I say to the other lady who intervened Maam let me pay this money and I will be sure to use EVERY platform available to tell what happened to my 7 year old at Cole Steven's and how it was handle by "Olga" the need customer service training manager. Why send your children to a swimming pool when you can pay for them to go to Cole Steven's and get the shampoo boy special approved by the big "Olga,". My little girl said to me mom I was very scared but you should give it to God and not get upset you know better that lady doesnt know God she needs to be replaced. No worries my beautiful daughter we will NEVER use the service where there is an "Olga" or Cole Steven's period. Worst experience of my little girls...
Read moreI went to Cole Stevens Greenbelt Maryland almost a month ago. I went for a wig installation. The stylist, Renae (I'm not sure if that's how she spells her name), required for me to drop the wig off to her prior to my appointment and I had no problem with that. I traveled from Clarksburg to drop the hair to her. I then scheduled an appointment (or so I thought) with the scheduler for Friday (my wedding anniversary date) at 1pm. I showed up to the appointment on time, super excited for the new look I would have on this special day. Whoever booked my appointment when I arrived earlier in the week with the wig, actually did not schedule me. So I wasn't even down for an appointment like I scheduled in person! The stylist did not come out to speak to me until 44 minutes after my "scheduled time". If she was overbooked, I wish I was told then so I could make arrangements to get my hair done somewhere else or by someone else. At this time I was going to leave and just figure something out to do with my hair, so I walked up to the attendant and asked how much longer I could expect to wait. He stated that I was next so I decided to wait it out a little longer. I remained in the back with the women who washed my hair and braided my hair down. At this point, my husband had to cancel a 4pm reservation because my hair wasn't even down being braided. All the stylist did was place the wig on my hair, cut the lace, and curled it. She did not cut out a place for my ears to properly fit, she did not put any edge control on my edges, and she put a dime sized hole in my wig. I bought this wig from Luveme Hair and did not touch it myself because I have no clue as to what I am doing. For the wait (5.5 hours), finished look, and damaged wig, I would NEVER see this stylist again. I debated if I should post a review, but every single time I put my wig on, I am reminded of the horrible experience I endured that day. I was told she is very popular and does a great job on hair, but I did not experience this at all. Maybe it was a one time thing, but for me first time impressions are everything. And for the amount of money I spent on the service, I deserved better and will never use her again. Which I'm sure she probably wouldn't care. I'm writing this for a fellow person that may want to use her services. I hope she does better moving forward. It is more about the quality you provide to a client than the quantity of clients and provide a service the client is not...
