This afternoon our family had no clue where to eat and we finally decided that we hadn't gone to a traditional Mexican Restaurant for a long time, so we decided on trying out La Bamba, which we see on a daily basis driving back and forth on High Point Road. Like quite a few good restaurants in Greensboro, it doesn't look like much on the outside, but I was very pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful interior with nice, warm lighting that made the whole experience very comfortable. The tables, seats, and menus are high quality and completely fit the Mexican theme. The staff were very quick to get us to our seats, take our order, and to get us our orders, all looking very professional. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................ The one thing I wish was changed was the waitress, when we asked to have some time to consider what we wanted out of the huge menu, she kept coming back within a minute or two when, clearly, none of us were ready. This wouldn't matter at all except that when we told her we'd need more time, she looked kind of mad and walked off without a word. I noticed another poster mentioned a waitress that served him every Sunday (the day I went) that was like this, and I think I got the same one. She seemed very unfriendly and/or unhappy, not once smiling, just giving an emotionless face that made me feel like I was doing something wrong. However, the other waiters and waitresses that interacted with us were friendly and frequently asked us if we needed anything, so I'm sure it's a problem with just that one waitress, I would post her first name, but none of the staff had name tags on. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................ The food was amazing, exactly what you'd expect and the prices are great. When we went, they had a deal that any lunch menu meal (approx. 20 to choose from) is only $5 with a drink when the original prices ranged from $4.50 to $7.00 and drinks are usually $1.50. Everything I tried (we sampled eachother's dishes) tasted spectacular. The menu is enormous, even the lunch special list was so big, it took me at least 10 minutes to decide on what to get, I didn't even want to think about the other things I might want off the rest of the menu. There's a big list of mixed drinks and beers to choose from, but the variety of soft drinks is a bit lacking. They do have Diet Coke, Dr Pepper, and Sprite, but they don't have Mellow Yellow or Vault as I would expect, but I can deal with it. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................ I can't wait to go back and hang out with some friends. I highly...

5* review converted to 1*
I have been going to LA bamba for YEARS. I have left positive reviews on Google and always recommend them to friends and family. Today I arrived at 7:00pm we were the only party in the building. The lady who served us was nice and our drinks were correct. The salsa taste was off my wife ordered a cheese dip which was unfortunately like water. While we were waiting the lady let another party that came in know they ran out of rice. They left... My wife's and sons food was correct. Unfortunately somehow things took a turn for the worst for my meal. My rice was completely cold. After that was fixed I noticed my chimichanga was chicken and not beef. I called the lady back over let her know not to worry about a replacement and please only charge me for the rice I ate. Because I am a slow eater at this point my wife was done eating. The lady informed me she would not charge me for the rice and was very sorry which she said many times. Which was what I felt was the right call. I did not want to appear as someone just looking for a problem or something for free. As I paid for my wife's and son's food I left my phone number for the manager to call me. This review is not a reflection of the lady who waited my table but the cook and management.
I hope whatever was going on with La bamba tonight is fixed for it's future customers. As for myself I cannot imagine going back unless the manager actually calls me and...
Read moreTook my girlfriend out for a date here and had the worst experience at a restaurant we have ever experienced. We were seated immediately, and each ordered a drink. My girlfriends was supposed to come with a shot of liquor on the side, which was absent. My beer came out and was flat. I sent it back and ordered a bottled beer instead. We ordered an appetizer of queso and our entrees at the same time. Our waiter brought out my girlfriend's entree, looked at me with a bit of panic, and walked away without a word. Never came back by the table. While we waited for our second entree to come out 2 tables left and one walked into the kitchen to get the queso they ordered but never received. I finally flagged our waiter and asked about my entree, as my girlfriend was almost done with hers (I told her not to wait for my order). When I asked about my very late entree I was told it was almost ready. I let him know I didn't want it at this point and would not be paying for it. At this point he brought out the check and queso, and charged me for the queso, both meals and a flat beer. I refused and was finally given a check for only the drinks and single entree. Thank God for taco bell down the road. Got my order on...
