I recently had the pleasure of attending The Bolling Show at Greensboro’s newest jazz gem, The Continental Club, and it was an unforgettable evening that transported me straight to the heart of New York’s Village jazz scene. Located at 816 South Elm Street, The Continental Club exudes a swanky, intimate ambiance with its plush leather seating, dim lighting, and chic decor . The venue offers a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for jazz enthusiasts and casual listeners alike. The performance featured the talented Greensboro Bolling Ensemble, led by pianist Stephanie Lindley, with Brian Blauch on flute, Gavin Douglas on guitar, Virginia Masius on bass, and Steve McHugh on drums . Their rendition of Claude Bolling’s classical-jazz crossover pieces, including selections from the Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano and the Picnic Suite, was both technically impressive and emotionally resonant. The ensemble’s chemistry and passion brought Bolling’s compositions to life, creating a dynamic and engaging performance. The Continental Club’s commitment to showcasing high-caliber local talent and providing a top-notch listening environment makes it a standout addition to Greensboro’s music scene. Whether you’re a seasoned jazz aficionado or new to the genre, an evening at The Continental Club promises a memorable experience.

The Continental is one of the classiest hang out spot in Greensboro. The bar tenders are very familiar with classic cocktails and are well trained and very sociable. This is one of the greatest to hear new local artists, up and coming bands, jazz music, and good spot to hang out and meet good people.

Very eclectic, stylish atmosphere with delicious cocktails, wine and beer… very friendly and attentive staff as well. It’s the perfect meeting place for all kinds of people, and there’s nothing quite like it in Greensboro. They also will host your private event!

Could definitely use some better advertisement because it's such a great space. Also, bartenders need to truly learn how to bartend. Drinks were kind of bad, drink etiquette was worse. This place has the potential to be such a great spot, but for drinks and vibes to be their selling point, they're not really...
