Bonchon is one of my favorite spots back home in Cali so when my family and I were going on a road trip I wanted to see if there were any locations nearby. I was happy to see they had many locations along our planned route! We ended up stopping in Greensboro for lunch, surprisingly they were really busy. I felt bad because they seemed severely understaffed for the amount of customers they had. We waited a little to be seated and the host ended up having to take our drink order because the two servers they had that day were overwhelmed. We ordered water for everyone but my sister and her husband got a virgin pina colada. When our waiter finally came to get our order he did let us know the pina colada might take a while because they didn’t have a bartender working. At least he was apologetic for the long wait, which we understood because we could clearly see they were very busy with only two waiters working. I ordered the pork buns, seasoned fries, pickled radish and a side of spicy Mayo. My fiancé ordered the takoyaki. Everything was delicious! The wait was little long but it’s understandable because we hit the lunch crowd. The pork in the pork buns wasn’t as thick as I’m used to, the location near me has nice thick pieces. And the pickled radish didn’t taste like it was pickled that long. Honestly it didn’t have much taste but I enjoyed the crunch. My fiancé enjoyed his takoyaki and we shared the pork buns. Definitely suggest stopping by Bonchon and giving them a try if you’re in the area and looking for some good Korean food! Try to beat the lunch or dinner crowds though if you don’t want a long wait. Hopefully they can increase their staff for the busy times! Other than that we enjoyed our food and the staff was great doing what they could to keep up service!

As a chain in close proximity to a plethora of eateries on Elm, Bonchon needed to be something special to have a chance at survival. Fortunately, it is. Delicious food, friendly service, and a surprising number of options make Bonchon a must for downtown dining. Ironically housed in a former antique shop, Bonchon is bright, clean, modern, and inviting. There is plenty of seating around the bar and no shortage of conventional tables as well. One caveat: the latter come with low chairs that are not particularly comfortable. While Korean fried chicken is the marquee attraction here, Bonchon offers quite a bit more. Rice bowls, tacos, sliders, salads, and more can be found here too. While Korean cuisine is well-represented (bulgogi and bimimbap are just the start), the fusion/pan-Asian offerings bring a strong dumpling game including takoyaki (Japanese breaded fried octopus poppers). For our first visit, my wife and I split an order of strips (half soy garlic, half sweet crunch) with radish and an order of pork buns (pork belly, cucumber, slaw, spicy mayo, and sauce). Given that the chicken is made to order, the food didn’t take terribly long to arrive. Both dishes were hits. While the chicken was perhaps dryer than it would have been were it in wing form, it was nicely breaded and crunchy without any greasiness. The pork buns were tender and practically inhalable. All of the sauces delivered big flavors, but none were overpowering, and the radish provided a cool, fresh counterpoint. Everything proved to be surprisingly affordable. Ten-piece strips ran $12, three pork buns were $10, and the quantities were filling. Some restaurants can leave you wondering if you’ll be back. With Bonchon, the only things left to wonder are when and what to try next.

I really thought I was done making negative reviews until the fifth time they forgot to put kbq on wings its almost as if they have a shortage and just dab it with a brush. I called in my order and asked about the 12 bone in wings they said that they're only selling boneless with that count then i just went to 10 bone-in wings, which the lady agreed on phone, i paid and checked order vividly, and saw everything okay with order at the time, until i got home and noticed they only gave me 8 wings not 10! Seriously, does anyone care anymore, obviously not because after i called in about the situation, the lady on the phone went to talk with the manager and said I could come back in to get the two extra wings with the price of 3 extra dollars, im like dude im at home now which is 30 mins away and why isnt my receipt itemized so i can tell what i paid for concerning price and count of things, the price was 51 for apparently 8 wings 2 vegetable rice, chicken katsu, 2 extra spicy mayo's. This is seriously bad bussiness the lady on the phone didnt even apologize, dont go to the area in Greensboro avoid at all cost, was everything else fantastic absolutely, but Chapel hill location is better, better service , better atmosphere and always on point with food orders not forgetting anything .

I have been coming to this place since the pandemic. I came back here in June and I asked for 2 of the 10 piece spicy wings extra crispy which is my usual unless one of my friends came and he would get his wings cooked soft. When I got the order it was not extra crispy and one order was cooked in soy. I immediately took the order back and the cashier was very nasty and rude about it to the point I said don't worry about it but the soy needed to be changed because the order is completely wrong. Therefore I got the order redone so i thought after it was supposed to be 2 spicy extra crispy REASON BEING FOR THE EXTRA CRISPY BECAUSE THE CHICKEN IS SOGGY AND IS NOT COOKED ENOUGH FOR ME WHEN IT IS COOKED THE REGULAR WAY instead one order was still wrong because I still was given soy and the other order of spicy was so hot my son couldn't eat it and when I opened the other box it was cooked in so much soy that I felt like throwing up after takine 1 bite. YET AFTER ALL THIS I NEVER ONCE CALLED AND COMPLAIN INSTEAD I TOSSED THE ENTIRE ORDER IN THE TRASH. I WASTED APPROXIMATELY 40 DOLLARS FOR BOTH MEALS BECAUSE IT WAS SO HORRIBLE A DOG WOULDN'T EAT IT ALTHOUGH I FELT LIKE IT WAS LITERALLY DONE ON PURPOSE NOW LETS GET TO THE DATE OF AUGUST 20TH 2024 A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO I CALLED TO PLACE AN ORDER A FEMALE ANSWERED THE PHONE (ASSUME IT WAS THE SAME RUDE NASTY ATTITUDE CASHIER FROM THE PREVIOUS TIME) I WAS THEN PLACED ON HOLD AND THE COOK WHICH WAS A MALE GOT ON THE PHONE REFERRING TO THE LAST TIME I WAS THERE ABOUT THE EXTRA CRISPY WHEN IN FACT MY ORDER WAS STILL FIXED INCORRECTLY AND I TOOK THE LOSS! AGAIN I DID NOT COME BACK WHEN I GOT IN MY CAR AND CHECKED MY FOOD AND TASTED IT NEITHER DID I CALL BACK WHILE I DROVE BACK TO WINSTON REGARDING MY ORDER THAT WAS STILL DONE INCORRECTLY NEEDLESS TO SAY THE COOK DID NOT LET ME FINISH IN DETAIL ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED BACK IN JUNE DUE TO THE FACT HE GETS ON THE PHONE TELLING ME FOR ME TO COME IN AND ORDER THAT WAY MY CHICKEN WILL NOT BE SITTING AND IT WILL BE CRISPY I DID NOT DEBATE BECAUSE WHEN I ORDERED IN JUNE I WAS APPROXIMATELTY 5 MINUTES AWAY BEFORE I CAME INSIDE TO PICK UP MY WHEN IN FACT I WAITED ABOUT 5 TO 8 MINUTES FOR MY FOOD TO COME FROM THE BACK OR THE FACT ME AND MYFRIEND CAME ON AUGUST 10TH GOT MY USUAL CHICKEN IS COOKED EXTRA CRISPY AND SPICY FOR THE 50TH TIME NO ISSUES IN FACT THE SAME NASTY RUDE CASHIER WAS NOT THERE IN WHICH WE DINED INSIDE I MADE THE STATEMENT IS THERE SOMETHING DOCUMENTED ON MY NUMBER! HE KEPT CUTTING ME OFF AND STATED COME IN AND ORDER AND HE WOULD GIVE ME 10% OFF. ME AND MY FRIEND COMES IN AND LOW AND BEHOLD IT IS THE SAME NASTY RUDE ATTITUDE CASHIER WHICH MADE EYE CONTACT WITH ME WALKED OVER TO THE BAR AND SAID THE WAITRESS WILL TAKE MY ORDER. I DECLINED IF YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO SERVE ME YOUR BUSINESS IS DEFINITELY NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR MY MONEY ANY TIME I SIT DOWN AND HAVE ATE THERE I LEFT NO LESS THAN A $10 TIP SOMETIMES MORE. SINCE 2020 ME AND MY FRIEND HAD BEEN EATING AT THIS RESTAURANT 2 TO 4 TIMES A MONTH. I AM SURE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS ENCOUNTERED THIS TYPE OF DISCRIMINATORY SERVICE BECAUSE THE CASHIER WAS TOO COMFORTABLE IN DISPLAYING HER NASTY AND RUDE ATTITUDE! NOT ONE TIME DID I ARGUE, FUSS OR EVEN SAID ANYTHING IN A MEAN SPIRITED WAY TO THIS YOUNG GIRL I WILL NOT EVER CONTRIBUTE TO THIS RESTAURANT EVER AGAIN. MY FRIEND AND I CAME DOWN IN WHICH HE EATS FROM THERE QUITE FREQUENTLY KNEW ABOUT THE INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED IN JUNE HOWEVER HE WAS WITH ME WHEN THE YOUNG GIRL DID WHAT SHE DONE NOT ONLY DID HE WITNESSED IT THE CUSTOMERS WHO WERE IN FRONT OF ME DID ALSO. I CANT HOLD BONCHON TO A STANDARD IN WHICH THEY DONT HAVE THE ABILITY TO PERFORM AND THAT IS TO TREAT PEOPLE WITH RESPECT, DIGNITY, AND NON-DISCRIMINATORY BEHAVIOR. INSTEAD I WALKED AWAY HUMBLY, WITH INTEGRITY AND DIGNITY I WAS TAUGHT WHEN YOU WALK AWAY FROM SOMETHING LEAVE PEACEFULLY AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST I HAVE A WORD FOR YOU MY BIBLE TELLS Me Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have...

Bonchon has stolen my heart with its delectable Tteokbokki dish, and it has become one of my favorite Asian restaurants for this very reason. Their Tteokbokki is a mouthwatering creation that perfectly balances spiciness, textures, and flavors, leaving you craving for more.

The moment this dish arrives at your table, you’re greeted with a delightful sight. The rice cakes and fish cakes are simmered to perfection in Bonchon’s signature Hot Sauce, which imparts a tantalizing kick. The scallions and onions add a refreshing touch, enhancing the overall taste experience.

What sets Bonchon’s Tteokbokki apart is the brilliant addition of mozzarella cheese and kimari. The melted cheese creates a luscious, creamy layer that beautifully complements the spiciness of the dish. The kimari, a traditional seaweed wrap, adds a subtle umami flavor and a pleasing texture.

While the dish is undoubtedly spicy, it is important to heed the restaurant’s warning about consuming raw and undercooked meat and seafood. Bonchon prioritizes the safety and well-being of its customers, and it’s essential to enjoy this dish while being aware of any potential risks.

Bonchon’s Tteokbokki is a symphony of flavors that takes your taste buds on a delightful journey. Each bite is a perfect balance of heat, richness, and satisfying chewiness. The dish showcases the culinary mastery and attention to detail that Bonchon is renowned for.

Beyond the Tteokbokki, Bonchon’s menu offers a wide array of other Asian-inspired dishes that are equally impressive. From their crispy Korean fried chicken to their flavorful noodle bowls, there is something to please every palate. The quality of ingredients, the expertise of the chefs, and the attentive service combine to create a memorable dining experience.

Whether you’re a fan of Tteokbokki or simply looking for an exceptional Asian dining experience, Bonchon is a must-visit. Indulge in the spicy delight of their Tteokbokki, and explore the diverse flavors and culinary treasures this restaurant has to offer. Bonchon truly elevates Asian cuisine to new heights, and it continues to be a personal favorite for its...

As a dedicated food enthusiast, I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bonchon, and I must say, the experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, setting the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. Let's start with the star of the show: the food. Th signature Korean fried chicken is nothing short of exceptional. Each piece is meticulously prepared to perfection, boasting a crispy yet tender texture that is simply irresistible. The secret sauces, with their harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors, elevate the chicken to new heights of gastronomic delight. But Bonchon is more than just amazing chicken. Their diverse menu offers a range of tantalizing options, from flavorful bibimbap bowls to hearty noodle dishes, all crafted with fresh ingredients and expert culinary skill. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the dining experience, from the presentation of the food to the attentive service provided by the staff. Speaking of the staff, I must commend them for their professionalism and hospitality. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, I felt welcomed and valued as a guest. My server was knowledgeable about the menu and eager to offer recommendations, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. In addition to the fantastic food and service, Bonchon's ambiance is another highlight. The stylish yet cozy decor creates a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal with friends, family, or colleagues. Whether you're looking for a casual lunch spot or a place to celebrate a special occasion, Bonchon fits the bill perfectly. In conclusion, Bonchon is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary destination where flavor and quality meet excellence. Whether you're a longtime fan of Korean cuisine or new to its delights, a visit to Bonchon is sure to leave a lasting impression. I highly recommend indulging in their mouthwatering offerings for an unforgettable...
