A completely horrible experience due to an employee by the name of Eric Birmingham. My wife had her heart set on a vehicle from Brown and Wood and had already dealt with Thomas. She raved about his professionalism and courtesy. However, he was busy and asked Eric to cover for him just long enough for him to finish up another sale. My wife and I test drove the vehicle and returned very happy. There was a plastic trim piece that was not correct on the exterior so we asked the dealership to have it fixed before we agreed to spend somewhere in the ball park of $30,000 with them. They agreed and we went to sign the paperwork. A short while later Eric returns to the showroom and informs me the repair was complete. He asks me to step outside to observe the repair. Upon inspection, which required me to lay down in the hot parking lot because to see what was done you had to see up under the vehicle, someone had just pushed this piece of molded trim back onto a rubber piece that wasn’t even made to secure the molding. It literally took less than a pound of pressure to pop it right back off. Therefore it was never going to stay attached when driving down the road. It was very apparent there were supposed to be two plastic pop rivets on the under side and two screws through it located within the wheel well. I politely asked Eric Birmingham to do me a favor and not insult my intelligence and asked me to inspect the repairs when no repairs were actually completed. I pointed out that there were no plastic pop rivets and a screw missing. At that time, Eric Birmingham got extremely close to me and very aggressively told me I wasn’t going to talk to him that way. I, being completely confused, was then approached and backed into the dealership door. Eric did this by continuing to walk at me while he was within an inch of each other. When I got to the door I opened it continuing to speak with Eric yet he made contact with me with his body and basically forced me inside the door. He then proceeded to knock the can of Coca Cola out of my hand and onto the floor right in front of me. At that time I asked if everyone in there had seen what he did and everybody sort of stood there without saying a word. He then picked up my drink and asked me if I still wanted it. I declined and he went on without offering an apology or another drink. After this incident, he approached my wife and I two more time and spoke completely passed me as if I was not even sitting there in the room. I politely asked him if I could speak with him and he would not even reply or response.
If you use this dealership I would recommend not using Eric. If you do and he does not agree with you, he may react in a way that is aggressive and extremely...
Read moreSo I have a 2007 GMC truck which has an airbag recall...I called Brown and Wood to schedule an appointment to have this replaced and was told it would be 2 weeks out which I inquired why so long. The lady explained it was because they had to order the replacement airbag. I replied that makes total sense and I fully understand...EVERYTHING is GREAT up to this point and then all 4 wheels fell off the wagon on the 8 am appointment I had. I arrived about 10 minutes before my appointment and proceeded up to the desk where you check in and I told the young man who I was and that I had an 8am appointment for a recall on my airbag. This man looked at me as if I had 4 heads attached to my neck and I even handed him 1 of the several notices GMC had sent me thru the mail. He was not rude at all but he was clueless as to why I was there as it appeared to me from his actions I did not have an appointment. Please note I recieved a text and an email confirming my appointment. He never said I did not have an appointment nor did he say I did, as he took my keys I was pointed to the waiting lounge which made me believe I was getting my airbag replaced that morning. So after an 1.5 hr wait he comes to the lounge and calls me out to the desk which made me feel impressed as to how fast they had repaired it. He then proceeded to tell me he now had the information they needed to order a replacement airbag which is the time I started getting ticked off because I was told this was the reason I had to wait 2 weeks before they could see me and also I had to use a pto day from work for NOTHING.. I realized I had to accept what I was told and I explained to him I was told this 2 weeks ago and it was obvious to me the left hand did NOT have a clue what the right hand was doing. He told me they would call in about 2 weeks to let me know that the replacement airbag had arrived. This was almost 6 to 7 weeks ago and to my knowledge I have NOT heard from them about this. This is extremely disappointing to me as my wife and I have purchased a couple of vehicles from this dealership years ago and they were not the cheapest but they HAD a damn good service department years ago which made buying a vehicle from them an easy choice. I am now considering just going to another dealership to have this replaced as my confidence level in Brown and Wood has fallen from a 9 out of 10 to a 2 out of 10... SIGNED DISAPPOINTED BROWN AND...
Read moreSo I called them up with a fairly certain idea of what I wanted. I was looking for a cx-5 with a roof rack and android auto. I go over all the details with the salesman on 2 cars I saw online through their website. Everytime a price offer came I clarified this was with the roof rack and android auto. I was very particular because I was about to drive an hour and a half to the dealer so I made sure it was all clear. They asked for info about my trade in and I gave them every bit of info they asked for. I even clarified about the cosmetic state of my car and that it was in rough condition. The NADA guide for my car in rough condition was showing $4,350 and I had offers from other dealers where they valued it between 4,000 and 5,000. Well we finally agree on a price where they were only giving me $4,000 for my trade in and the price seemed close enough to get me to drive up there. I thought maybe they'll come down a bit to get closer to the nadaguides trade value once I'm there at the dealer. But surely, they would at least honor this price they sent me. It was texted to me, a picture of a paper quote with all the figures spelled out but didn't explicitly mention the roof rack or android auto. So I once again clarified 'this is with the roof rack and android auto, right?' and the salesman replied that it was. These were all texts as well... Not phone conversations. So it was enough for me to drive up there. Low and behold I get there and test drive it. They look at my car. And all of a sudden they can't honor the price they showed me. All of a sudden the options weren't shown on the quote so they say they never quoted me it with the roof rack or android auto. All of a sudden my car isn't in as good of shape as they thought even though they already looked at the carfax and I told them the condition up front. I was livid. After some back n forth I just asked for my keys and left. Complete waste of time. I cannot stand liars and especially where they jerked around with my time (3 hours driving) the way they did. These guys are snakes and I wouldn't trust them to buy a paper plane from them, let alone something...
