I’ve been hesitant to try buffets ever since late 2019, for obvious reasons but I decided to try it again since my family insisted. Last week, my first time back, the food was really good. I love collard greens and outside of the chunks of meat, they were bomb. (I know smoked meat is basically a requirement, but that was too much) The catfish was perfectly cooked and I was happy with the food overall. Our waitress, Donna, is the best and so sweet. As soon as I got to my table, I immediately spilled my drink all over it and she was really nice about it and didn’t get annoyed at all. After that, she would check on us and eye my drink to make sure it was upright. Which made me like her more. The next time was breakfast, which I enjoyed a little less. All I had was bacon and French toast. It wasn’t bad though. That waitress was Donna’s daughter I think (I’m sorry girl, I forgot your name!!) The last two times, (and don’t judge me for how many times I’ve gone. Mind your business!), I was disappointed. One time, they didn’t have collard greens. They’re the only cooked vegetable I like, but they didn’t have any and didn’t refill them either. The next time, it tasted like someone put sugar in the greens! Absolutely unacceptable. I don’t care where you’re from. That is treachery. This time, our waitress was China and she’s very calm and friendly. I liked her a lot. She agreed that sugary greens are a travesty and went to ask about it for me. They told her they didn’t do anything different. Yeah right. But I really like that she cared enough to ask. Overall, the service is A+ and I don’t want to completely downvote the whole menu because I don’t even eat the majority of it. It all smells and looks good though. It’s aesthetically pleasing at least. Don’t use my experience with cruciferous cuisine as a judge.
Edit: I did a quick search and there are indeed people that blasphemously put brown sugar in their greens. I still don’t care. There are more recipes without it than with it. And only once out of the (way more than 2) times I’ve gone have...
Read moreI found the food and waitress to be good but management was weird about me putting down bowls under the table for my service dog to have water and a reward as many service dog handlers do for my dog behaving as expected and patiently laying under the table and my feet for me to complete my meal. They made it even more uncomfortable because instead of the manager approaching me and explaining they did not want me to have the bowls under the table for my dog they instead reprimanded my server for allowing it and my server was very kind about it and explained she personally didn't think it was an issue it was simply that her managers had asked her to tell me to pick up the bowls and wait till I left the building. Ive never really ran into this before since the only real law on it would be is the dog under control yes hes laying down under the table is the owner the one taking care of tending to the dog not staff yes so really I guess it falls under discretion so I just nodded to the server understanding she was just the messenger doing her job and won't make it a point to go to this location again. Service dogs aren't robots I think if my dog is behaving professionally and working an extended amount if time there like I was roughly an hour in the middle of 106° heat he should have access to water and it normal for owners to reward their dogs while working with snacks to ensure they don't get hungry and also to help keep them motivated and on task in high stress environments like a...
Read moreThe food was delicious as usual. The large variety. I always enjoy the fish. The collards with ham or bacon cooked in it was out of this world.Sachirra at the register was very personable and professional. It was a treat.
12-19-24: first of all buy gift cards. You get between 20 and 25% off on the dollar. The food was delicious today especially the fried chicken mashed potatoes salad salads and I always love the cherry Jell-O. I just have to give up trying to taste everything that I like because that's most everything. I always try to sit near the drink station because the fellow that takes care of that area is top-notch. Only recommendation I make is that when you're making that cucumber salad or whatever it is cut the red onion super thin when they're that thick they're bitter. They need to be about a 16th of an inchin width. But I think it's an excellent deal for the money especially if you eat before 4 o'clock. 9-23-2025: on my first helping the pears were underripe, the shrimp in onion rings were cold and the what appears to be a boneless rib they were very grizzly and not very flavorful I couldn't chew it. The mashed potatoes and gravy and the green beans were good as well as it made me a little plate of nachos that was decent. But I am very...
