I recently visited Relaxation Station in Haywood Mall and had a two-hour massage, which cost $160. The experience was generally pleasant, and the massage was relaxing, but there were a few things that I think are important to note for others considering a visit.
The cost for a one-hour massage was listed as $72, which seemed pretty reasonable, and I was expecting the price for a two-hour massage to be more or less a simple multiple of that. However, the total for my two-hour session came out to $160, which was a bit higher than I anticipated.
While I understand that tips are generally appreciated in service industries, I was somewhat taken aback when I was asked to leave a $40 tip on top of the already hefty price. To me, that felt like a bit of an expectation rather than a genuine suggestion. I always try to tip well when the service is good, but a $40 tip on top of a $160 session felt like it was more than I had anticipated or was comfortable with.
I do want to clarify that tips are, of course, a personal choice, but in my experience, it felt a little uncomfortable to be pressed for such a large tip after the session. It’s always important to feel like you’re tipping out of generosity rather than obligation, and this situation left me wondering about the balance between expectation and appreciation.
Overall, while the massage itself was good, the pricing and the pressure to tip left me with mixed feelings. I’d still consider going back, but I’d hope for a clearer understanding of pricing and tipping before...
Read moreI visited relaxation station on Orchard Park drive today and after my massage, she spent a very long time on my back but then didn't finish my legs and just patted them. So I asked her to focus on my legs and I asked the lady when I got there which one to choose because I needed my legs focused on, so I already did let them know. Well the hour waa up and i still need my legs worked on so i told her to just add an extra 30 minutes to focus on one of my legs cause they were hurting so she did. This is using google translate, since she didn't understand what I was saying. After we were done I went to go and pay and the 90 minute session ended up being a $103. So going to pay and add a $10 tip. She still completed the massage, but I wasn't super thrilled about it. She points to her tip guidelines paper saying if you're satisfied give 25% and if you're super satisfied, give like thirty or thirty five. I say ok, and continue. Then she basically said this are the minimum tips price and my tip is too low. I said tip guidelines are optional, not something that I have to do. And she's like, no. Well, I looked under the paper that I was signing, and she already had one filled-out with a higher amount, which is very odd and signed. So I crossed lines through it and then proceeded with mine. And she repeatedly said, no 25 %, and I said, no, I'm not going to, tios are optional not mandatory. That did not make her happy. Im still watching my banks statement to see what they actually took. I say this to...
Read moreThe worst place I’ve ever had a massage at. I got a foot massage and she rubbed the top of my leg and the top of my foot touched the bottom of foot once for a second. It was HORRIBLE! After the first 5 minutes I was hoping it would get better and it didn’t so when she was done with the first foot I said I don’t want this massage anymore I’m done! I told her my 9 year old daughter is better at massages. There was no technique in her massage at all. In the beginning also her phone rang she let it ring then proceeded check it and text. I should have walked away then I felt that was a red flag! The light was on too which was a lamp but still that’s not relaxing at all either. She charged me for the horrible rub of the my top of my foot and leg and over charged me actually. We even tipped them good. Customer service was horrible should have taken care of me in a better way. She shouldn’t have even charged me or offered a different person to massage me. I would AVOID this place at all costs. I would not recommend them you will regret...
