I have truly never been treated so unfairly in my life. I came to the Local Que for the first time tonight (yes, I am wrote this as soon as I got home) with a group of co-workers. I was excited to come because I have heard wonderful things about the beer selection and the food. Since I was on a work outing, I knew I didn't want to drink very much. I had a drink earlier in the night (at 6:00) at a separate location and then ordered 1 Gin & Tonic at Local Cue (It's now 9:00). I was milking the drink since I didn't want to have another. I needed to wake up early so I needed to be responsible. While chatting with a co-worker, a bartender, Mike, came up, took my glass, and asked if I wanted anything else. I smiled, said I wasn't quite done and it was the only drink I was having. I took the glass back and said I just wanted what was left of my ice. About 15 minutes later Mike came back and put ice in my glass. I guess he thought he was being nice but I was quite confused. I said that I didn't need the ice, I just wanted the rest of my Gin soaked ice. He then took my glass and filled it with water. I asked him why he did that, said it wasn't what I wanted and just gave him the glass back. He walked away, and I continued my conversation. A little while later some other co-workers were trying to get me to take shot, I declined but said I would order them one. When I tried to order it from Mike, he yelled NO twice and walked away. Literally yelled no and walked away. No explanation. I was confused, thought he might have been joking, and just waited for the next bartender. I saw Mike walk back, talk to a group of bartenders, but I didn't think much of it. A few minutes later a female bartender with short, dark, curly hair, walked out and I asked for the shots. She said NO and that I had been cut off because I had to much to drink. ???What???? Baffled, I asked her why, stated that I was being treated unfairly and that I had ONLY had 2 drinks since 6 and only 1 drink in their establishment. She got rude, had an attitude, and the situation escalated. I am mad at this point. Not drunk, just mad, there's a difference. The guy next to me that I didn't know, didn't want to get involved at first, but as he saw me being treated unfairly, he spoke up, since he was there from the beginning. He validated my story to another bartender that walked up. Eventually the bartenders walked away, after making threats of kicking me out. I am still so totally confused about why I was being treated this way. I continued to talk about the situation since my co-workers were all asking me why I was cut off, they all knew that I had barely had anything to drink. The bartenders did not like that I was explaining the situation to the people around me and were threatening to kick me out again. I was of course angry. I wasn't cussing at them, wasn't threatening them but I was wanting them to explain why they were treating me the way they were. I could go on in greater detail about the situation and how rudely I was treated by a total of 4 bartenders, all stemming from Mike being a jerk for some reason but I will just stop here. What happened tonight was honestly the rudest I have ever been treated in my entire adult life at a bar, this includes the nights that I was actually being a belligerent drunk. I hope the manager/owner sees this and takes action against a few ignorant bartenders that could ruin their business. If the the manager/owner was involved, that's a shame. A few of my other friends were explaining how rude the girl with the curly hair was to them as well, related to entirely different situation earlier. I will never spend my money here again and the next time me and 20 of my co-workers are looking for a place to have a few drinks, I will make sure the Local Cue is not the spot we head to. Mike and the curly headed girl need to learn a few things about customer service and if I was the owner of this establishment, the last thing I would want is a few terrible bartenders treating good honest...
Read moreI really think this place could be improved with a few minor changes. To start, having to seat yourself at this place where there are a ton of corners and different areas made is very difficult. I felt like I was walking around like a lost puppy trying to simply find a place to sit.
The waitress came by decently fast, but the menu had a QR code that said it was for the draft list, but actually there isn’t a draft list on their website at all, so this left me very confused. Once I spoke to the waitress, she showed me that there was a sign on the wall that showed the draft list. This was confusing and unintuitive. The food ordering process was fairly simple.
Once the food arrived, the BBQ sandwich was actually pretty decent, however the bread did not seem toasted so this made the sandwich really soggy and kinda gross. Additionally, the sandwich had a very small squirt of BBQ sauce in it. When I asked for extra, they ended up charging me 65¢ for some BBQ sauce at a BBQ restaurant. If it had come with enough sauce in the beginning, this would not be a big deal, but then it was.
The fries that came with my order were soggy like they had been sitting around for a while. The tater tots that also came with my order were VERY crispy and overdone, to the point that I felt like I was simply eating thick potato chips. There was no softness to them at all, it was just crunch. This was a stark contrast to the French fries.
There was also a note on the menu that the pricing reflects a cash discount. This is pretty insane to me in 2025 that we’re charging customers that pay with a card more. You could just charge everyone the same, and it wouldn’t be an issue, or just display the price for using a credit card. There is no way that any more than 25% of your customers are paying with cash, and therefore this is just deceiving to the majority of your customers that are paying with a card. You could still give a discount, but atleast make the menu in the maximum price that I’m going to pay if I use my credit card to pay. Especially when you require a credit card...
