Las Meras Tortas, let me tell you, folks, this place is a culinary powerhouse that will leave your taste buds screaming for more! It's like the perfect blend of socks and sandles! Just like the good ol' days. So, grab your socks, sandles, and appetite, folks, and let's dive into this food adventure! When you step foot into Las Meras Tortas, you'll feel like you're walking into your own workshop. The place is buzzing with energy, just like when I'm in the middle of telling my kids "I'll turn this car around!". The walls are adorned with pictures and blueprints, giving it that authentic workshop vibe. As I walked in, I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement, just like when I'm about to fire up the old station wagon for a road trip! Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the tacos! These tacos are like the ultimate vehicle of the food world. They come in all shapes and sizes, each one more impressive than the last. I started off with the classic Cubana torta, and let me tell you, it packed a real punch. Layers upon layers of tender roast pork, ham, cheese, and pickles, all held together by a perfectly toasted roll. It was like a symphony of flavors, folks! But the real showstopper was the "El Jefe" torta. This colossal creation is like a power tool on steroids! Piled high with grilled steak, chorizo, bacon, avocado, and a secret spicy sauce, it's a flavor explosion that will leave you speechless. I took one bite, and suddenly I was transported back to the days of good ol days. where every project was bigger, bolder, and more exciting than the last. And let's not forget about the side dishes, folks. The fries are crispy and golden, just like a freshly polished wrench. And the guacamole? Oh boy, it was creamy and packed with flavor, just like a well-oiled power tool. I couldn't get enough of it! The service at Las Meras Tortas is top-notch, just like having a trusty sidekick by your side. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to lend a hand. They even have a workshop area where you can customize your torta to your heart's desire. It's like having your own personal culinary TV set right in the middle of the restaurant! So, if you're looking for a culinary adventure that combines the thrill of power tools with mouthwatering flavors, Las Meras Tortas is the place to be. It's a one-of-a-kind experience that will leave you craving more, just like when you're in the middle of a home improvement project. So, put on your tool belt, folks, and get ready for a gut-busting journey that even dad would be proud of!

$8.99 (plus tax) to upend your life. Best sandwich I’ve ever had. In my life. Best ever. I always get the Española, which has Mexican sausage, omelette, beans, jalapeños, cheese, and a bunch of other great stuff on it. Biggest sandwich for ten bucks ever. I usually eat at the one on White Horse rd, but this location is where they bake the bread IN HOUSE. Unbelievable bread. I like this sandwich so much, I literally get what I call a “celebration torta” at the end of every college semester when I get good grades. That’s how I reward myself. (I obviously get them other times, too). This is several semesters running, and I’m going to continue this tradition for every celebratory occasion until I die. One good sandwich can turn your life (and grades) around! I’m dead serious; best sandwich ever. Ask my friends. They call me the sandwich king. I’m not kidding about that, either. Every location I’ve been to is equally good. Salsa bar is tremendous too, with all kinds of…salsa, obviously, but crema and peppers and corn, too. All perfect. Do yourself a favor and go get a torta. Come hungry, and prepared for an existential experience.

There are two locations and both are excellent. They have a basic menu of tacos, all the faves, Tortas(subs) a grilled meat with cheese and topped with avocado mayo tomato jalapeno onion, hurraches which is flat corn dough and is the name of a famous sandal made in Mexico hence the name. Then it's fried and topped with smashed pintos cheese, veggies. It's all so good. They have a small salsa bar with a few extras like pickle cactus, pasta salad, corn, pickle onions, potato salad. Everything is fresh and hot and fast and low cost. We love this place I bet you will too.

Today wasn’t the best day for what is usually a really great restaurant.

The aguas frescas was gross. It wasn’t mixed well and was gritty.

The chorizo taco that I ordered was severely dried out and the meat was flattened into charred, pasty pieces which was strange in my opinion.

The California burrito I ordered was soaking wet with grease from the l small amount of carnitas that was inside it.

The biggest let down of all was that the same burrito was padded with huge pieces of pork fat instead of actual meat. I mean the burrito was filled with probably 70% pork fat and things that are normally thrown out instead of actual meat. I understand that restaurants are being affected by inflation just like the rest of us, but that is not right.

We won’t be back.

UPDATE! I got food poisoning from something I ate here this same day. I was vomiting for two days after I posted this review. Definitely not going back.

Original review: My family and I thoroughly enjoy eating here. Their sandwiches are tasty and big enough to be more than one meal! The tacos, while relatively small, are usually filled with perfectly seasoned meats and they really hit the spot. I definitely recommend...
