Well, folks, gather 'round because I've got a sizzling review for you today! We're talking about the Hibachi Grill in Taylors, South Carolina, and let me tell you, this place is hotter than a touchdown in the fourth quarter! Now, picture this: you walk into the Hibachi Grill, and the first thing that hits you is the aroma of perfectly seasoned meats and veggies dancing on the grill. It's like a symphony of flavors, and trust me, this place knows how to conduct it! The chefs are like the quarterbacks of the grill, tossing and flipping ingredients with precision and finesse. Speaking of quarterbacks, let's talk about the star of the show: the hibachi steak. This juicy, tender cut of beef is like a Hail Mary pass that always finds its target - your taste buds! Cooked to perfection, it's a touchdown of flavor that'll make you do a little end zone dance right there in your seat. And don't even get me started on the shrimp! It's like a wide receiver with quick moves and a burst of flavor that'll leave you cheering for more. Now, folks, I gotta let you in on a little secret. The Hibachi Grill isn't just about the food, it's about the show! These chefs are like the ultimate entertainers, cracking jokes and performing tricks that'll have you laughing and clapping like a proud dad at a little league game. They'll even toss a shrimp into their hat, like a magician pulling a rabbit out of a helmet! It's corny, it's cheesy, but it's also a whole lot of fun. And speaking of corny, let's not forget about the dad jokes! These chefs have a knack for delivering groan-worthy one-liners that'll make you roll your eyes and chuckle at the same time. It's like they've got a playbook of corny jokes, and they're not afraid to use it! But hey, that's part of the charm, right? So, my friends, if you're looking for a dining experience that'll leave you full of laughter and deliciousness, the Hibachi Grill in Taylors, South Carolina is the place to be. It's like a touchdown celebration and a comedy show all rolled into one. Just remember to bring your appetite and your sense of humor, because this place is a winner in more ways than one!

Update 6-11-25: Look, I’ve been coming to this place for years—back when it was under a different name (and probably the same owners). Like most buffets, it’s gone through the usual name-change-and-renovate routine. First time I came after the remodel, I wasn’t impressed. It looked better, sure—new booths, updated seating—but the food felt like the same old stuff with a couple crab legs thrown in and a higher price tag. But I’ve been back a few times since then, and honestly... it’s gotten better. Sushi has leveled up. More variety, and they even have sashimi. I still don’t fully trust raw fish at buffets, but hey—they’re trying. The hibachi got an upgrade too. On our most recent visit, they were grilling what looked like ribeye steaks—maybe chuck eye, but decent-sized cuts either way. Quality was hit or miss (one bite felt like it was at the end of its life), but A for effort. My daughter even ate some, which says a lot. They also had these stuffed scallops that surprised me—crispy topping, crab mix, a little corn, actual scallop meat. Legit good. The fruit was better than usual too—ripe melon, not that cucumber-tasting filler they usually toss out. We came late, around 8:30 PM, so a few things like chicken on a stick were dried out, but that’s to be expected. Overall, I felt like I actually got my money’s worth this time. Two people for $32, and I didn’t leave annoyed or full of regret. That’s rare. It’s still buffet food. You’re not coming here for fine dining. But if you accept it for what it is, this place is doing better than most in the area—and a hell of a lot better than that Southern BBQ buffet down the road that everyone seems to rave about (and I still don’t understand why). I’d call this a solid 3.5 stars, but rounding up to 4 because they’re clearly making an effort, and they’re currently the best buffet experience I’ve had in town. Just don’t come expecting Vegas-level turnover. Come because you’re hungry, want some options, and don’t mind rolling the dice on a stuffed scallop.

**Updated review**We tried this place on it's third week and it was not good. We left a bad review and the owner contacted us and asked us to give it another chance. They were new and were trying to fix their issues. Usually I don't try a place again, but they made a good point so here we go. We tried it again and boy I'm glad we did. It was night and day difference. Food was very fresh and cooks/management stayed on the bars making sure everything was clean and maintained. They have hibachi, but I have not tried it. I'm more of a eggrolls and crab Rangoon kind of guy. All of that is on point as well as the sesame chicken and chicken on a stick. They have very fresh sushi and I'm not a sushi guy, but they have one with crab and cream cheese that is amazing. I eat 8-12 pieces each time we go there. We've had the same young lady the last 2 times, name might be Valeria. She's been exceptional. We got double charged last time we came, apparently it's an issue they're having with their processor. Either way a simple phone call and the manager Andrea took care of it. I'm so happy we gave them another shot. I made sure to let the owner know how appreciative we were of all the improvements they've made and promised to change my review. I'm keeping them at 5 stars but docking a star on food because the desserts just aren't that good. I can deal with that.

OVERCHARGED ME --- The manager Linda charged me sales tax on two FREE meals -- which I opposed since there's no sales tax on something that's FREE. I told her to check with her accountant. After Linda found out she was wrong for charging sales tax on something that's FREE, she still refused to refund the $1.26 that she wrongly charged for sales tax. She clearly does not believe in doing what's right when she makes a mistake. -- She's not honest.

Watery Hibachi food -- Grill NOT cleaned good -- Terrible Hibachi Grill Cook.

My wife and I went to this restaurant on Friday for lunch. We selected the items we wanted to have cooked on the Hibachi grill and chose to have our food cooked with teriyaki “sauce.” ... Because the teriyaki “sauce” was VERY watery, I asked the young Hibachi cook to put the “sauce” on our food SOONER so it could cook into the food and our food would not be WATERY. But instead, he cooked our food the way HE WANTED to cook it. ... He waited until the last few seconds before adding the WATERY teriyaki “sauce” to our food. I then asked him to let our food stay on the grill a little longer so it wouldn’t be so watery. He answered me saying “it’s done,” and he immediately removed our food from the grill.

Our food was SWIMMING in a POOL of WATERY teriyaki “sauce” that all drained to the bottom of the plate because it wasn’t cooked into the food properly.

This young cook needs to be replaced with someone who knows how to properly cook food on the Hibachi grill. --- You can NOT wait until the last few seconds of cooking the food and then pour this very WATERY teriyaki “sauce” onto the customer’s food. The watery teriyaki sauce needs to be put on the food much sooner while it’s cooking so customers will not be given a plate of WATERY food.

Also, there were many black BURNT pieces of food mixed in with our food. The cook did scrape the grill but he did NOT properly clean all the burnt pieces of food off of the grill before he placed our food on it.

No one wants a plate of WATERY food with pieces of BURNT grill scrapping mixed in with it. --- As of right now, I do NOT recommend this restaurant, not unless they fix this problem with the...

Chicken was swimming in sauce, yet biting into it, was incredibly dry and overcooked. Half the food felt like it was pre-cooked days in advance.

Fried sushi was not fresh neither were any of the fried foods as they tasted stale and soft rather than crunchy.

The Hibachi steak they cook for you, was poor quality and little more than pure gristle. They have no concept of rare, medium rare, or even medium as they tend to overcook everything that comes their way.

I decided to be adventurous and try their "seafood" stew. Big mistake. It's just a few rolls of imitation crab, probably leftover from the sushi in a seafood stock with a few onions and jalapeno pepper slices thrown in. Pretty sure it was that "stew" that started to make me feel sick.

We arrived around 3:40 PM at the end of the lunch period, but by then, all the dinner items were already out with signs over them telling lunch customers those foods were for dinner guests only. So even if we had arrived later for start of dinner service, I don't know how long their food was already put out, sitting under heat lamps, overcooking more.

I tried the bathrooms because I wasn't feeling too well after eating some of the foods, but there was a urinal that wouldn't work. The toilet stall was locked even though no one was there after knocking and asking if anyone was there. A broken and empty soap dispenser, so no telling if the cooks washed their hands ever.

Serving staff look like they don't want to be there. They do not smile, they can be seen leaning and playing on their phones.

I decided to try some "fresh" fruit for dessert, and took a bit of an orange slice, but the peel literally fell apart in my hand. The fruit is piled so high, I believe they throw out or recycle a lot of it for the next day's service as I can't imagine them going through that much in a day.

I know it's a Chinese Buffet, but there are so many better options in Greenville and the Greater Greenville area. Stay away from this place. Either they really just hate food, or they really don't like serving people at all because that's how we felt going here. Waste of money. Try anyone else before...
