El Horno Bakery — Restaurant in South Carolina

Distinctive Mexican baked goods and very personable owner. After dinner out at a nearby restaurant we saw this place online (looked for desserts) and decided to give it a try. Glad we did!

We got a bag full of treats for $6.50 … less than a dessert would have cost each of us at the restaurant. Since we were not familiar with the selections, the owner talked us through all the items. Wow! He even pointed out some things we might find quite different (like the donuts).

We each ate a treat in the car (couldn’t wait) and took the rest home. They were ALL delicious. Yes, even the donuts. There is no question. We will certainly return. Probably...

I had such a great experience with this bakery!! I had been on the search for a strawberry tres leches cake for my fiancé’s bday, it’s his all time favorite! I searched for a while and decided on el Horno due to the awesome reviews! The male who answered the phone and prepared the cake was so nice and did a fantastic job! I found this bakery on Wade Hampton by just googling. I walked in the door and was met with one of the nicest men who explained all of the cakes to me. Wasn’t sure what to expect. I took it to my husband‘s birthday party. When we cut into it the entire party was talking about how amazing this cake was. I took my first bite and realized exactly what they were talking about.
