A couple of things that are bothering me. First, apparently the Galaxy that I have now is "only" costing me $350 at this agency. On line it is free. Next, I'm temporarily disabled and unable to drive, so my son took my LG V40 in to disconnect and to activate a loaner til April 24 2021 when I planned to upgrade. By tell him what sounds to me to be at best incorrect info about having to pay off my remaining balance to activate the used and temporary phone, he convinced my son to buy a new phone that I don't want, and to do an upgrade with said phone. So I'm looking at paying off the new phone that I don't want for $350 so that I can upgrade to a free phone, which is now no longer free for obvious reasons, and am the owner of an expensive Samsung paperweight that I'll lose money on even if I can sell it for best used price. I've been a customer of US CELLULAR since the year 2000. For the most part we've had a decent relationship. This incident is causing me to reconsider my commitment to them. I'll be calling the outlet in Grimes, Iowa where the aforementioned debacle took place to hopefully get it corrected. If they are unwilling to, then will contact the company to discuss what they're willing to do about it. If they are unable or unwilling to work with a loyal customer, then,we'll see I guess. I will be documenting the process in detail on the US CELLULAR Facebook page so that others can see the willingness of the company to take care of a 21 year customer in good standing, or how they somehow throw said customer under the 🚌. This should be...
Read moreTL;DR - Switched over our phones from AT&T, ended up with one of our ported over phone numbers completely disconnected for at least a day so far, no offer to make things right, find yourself another store if you’re contemplating switching over.
Not a good experience. Sure, some of our frustration was with the run-around that AT&T gave us when we tried to move our numbers away from them to US Cellular. BUT the associates at this store are eating a bit of crow after talking badly about the competition. After figuring out how to get all the information needed to successfully port our numbers over from AT&T, our associate ported the final number of our account onto the same sim card as our first number. Therefore, we're waiting for remote support to complete a 'complex ticket' to get us the original number back and the sim cards updated (already waited 20 hours, could be 'up to 24'). No offer to make things right other than submit a 'complex ticket,' and associate blamed a faulty porting process rather than fess up that it was likely his fault and he had neglected to check the numbers before we left the store. Imagine that the phone number that was put in limbo was important for work/business... 24 hours is a long time to have a disconnected line due to no fault of your own with no preparation for your contacts. Not sure their motto, "Fairness," was at work here. Find another store if you're looking to switch your...
Read moreZach had called me as a courtesy on 1/28/21 to let me know that the insurance company was changing in my plan, its $1 more a month. I approved. I asked if there were any specials right now. He went over about a possible early upgrade to brand new Samsung S21. They hadn't even arrived yet, said they get shipped tomorrow on 1/29. I researched all 3 new phone of S21... and was liking the Plus and Ultra. Went in on Sat morning 1/30 to talk with Trevor. He went through all details on all 3 and the differences. I was so excited at this point. I decided on the S21 Ultra, the best of the best. Trevor is very friendly and thorough which is what I like. I was his first customer to upgrade to the new S21 Ultra. We chatted during the whole process of changing everything over. And he's a Cowboys fan like I am so that was a bonus. I would highly recommend US Cellular Grimes, Iowa to everyone I know. They are all very friendly and helpful. I've worked with James and John as well on previous phones. I would not go anywhere else and will highly recommend this location. Great job Trevor and thank you for helping me...
