I love Aldi & you definitely get the most bang for your buck & some of the best customer service here. However, today at the Grimes location the cashier named Amelia (got her name off the receipt) was exceptionally rude. I had my 1yr old son with me and when we went to check out she started ringing things up then I asked her (politely) if we could use the cart we currently were using because I didnât want to have to move my son & hold up the line. She said âFine.â then pushed the empty cart away and grabbed the back of my cart and swung it around while my son was in it. That irritated me but I was going to let it go.
HOWEVER, my son then started reaching for the card reader & while I was in motion to pull his hand away, in a raised voice the cashier (Amelia) said âDONâT TOUCH THAT!â so I said âHeâs just a baby, he doesnât know any betterâ to which she said âI know!!â still in a harsh, raised voice.
When she was done ringing us up she literally tossed the receipt at me and said âgoodbyeâ.
I myself am a customer service worker and I would never in a MILLION years treat a customer in such a way. ESPECIALLY a baby. I understand having bad days but in the working customer service world means you leave those feelings behind as soon as you clock...

Went ahead and placed another order to pu while I was there. Went inside..mentioned this to the young lady and she just looked at me like who cares. Whatever...just reached over and threw them away. Proceeded to tell her I also have an online order to pu. Between 5-6p. Got there at 530. Let me then know that sorry can you come back in like 45 min to to an hour. We only have 1 person and we got 40 orders in and we still haven't done the 4p orders. Completely understood. Been there myself. Cancelled online order and shopped myself. Shelves empty. Understood. It's happening everywhere. What bothered me the most was not being informed of the pu order. Something in place that prevents this? Like it will only take so many orders for however many employees are there? Maybe there is or will be. Just wanted to vent for a sec. Thanks...
   Read moreChecker Rashad rang up more items that I had purchased. Only brought 3 cream cheese and was charged for 4. Purchased 2 bags of grapes and was charged for 3 bags of grapes. Total of $4.28 over charged. I did not noticed the over charge until I was looking at receipt when I gotten home. I would have returned to store, I live on south side of Des Moines and about 30 minute drive back to Grimes. Was just in neighbor hood and was checking out the store. Rashad was not very careful with putting grocery in cart. Dropped can good on the bananas and bread. When finished checking out could not even say THANKS YOU!! Will not return, if I do will check receipt before leaving store to catch checker who is not doing their job correctly. If each checker over charges each shopper $5 and the check out 200 people per shift, that is $5 x 200 = $1000 not a bad day of profit and if you have 2, 3 or more checkers adds up...
