Buyer beware! I went to Groton consignment Wednesday February 10th. I found the table and chairs that I was looking for. I spoke with the man who was there at that time. He said that I would need two men to deliver this table and chairs. He went on to charge me $50 to go from Long Hill Road to Thames Street in Groton. The next day, Thursday February 11th, a man named Park showed up alone. When it came to setting this high top table on it's base, he asked me to help him. Despite the fact that I am 62 years old, have a back injury, and a torn cartilage in my left knee, I felt obligated to help him. Because I used my debit card the day before at the store, they took the $50 off with my payment for the table and chairs. I went back immediately to the store after Park left. A woman was there. I explained that I felt I could get a partial reimbursement for my delivery fee as I only had one person show up. She asked me if I was charged $40 for the two men! Now I'm thinking that I was overcharged by $10 for 2 men! I also said that I had to help him set it up on the base. She put my phone number and name on a paper so that the man could call me back the next day. Needless to say, I got no phone call. I went back today, Friday February 12. The lady there was absolutely insulting my intelligence! She asked me if I had to carry it up to the second floor. I reminded her that I paid for two men to deliver the item. She went on to say that I should have paid that because of the outdoor stairway. She did not take my phone number or name down, when she told me that she'd have him call me back! I said to her that I see that no one was willing to do the right thing there! I will no longer shop there because I see that they are not fair when it comes to customer relations! Just wanted to warn the public about this so that they don't have to suffer the same...
Read moreWe used to shop here and often go in to browse. This afternoon much to our disappointment the person on duty was burning scented candles. Not only was the scent overwhelming to us physically(causing headache and sore throat) the candies were not attended!! The attendant blew them out when we complained of reaction to them but it was too late. We should have left immediately. Hugh FIRE HAZARD! Anyone could have accidentally knocked over and with the amount of things in there it would have been a firetrap! The scent was all over my coat and I imagine anything in the store with fabric and or art work. I’m sure the owner and those selling their items would be very upset. We will probably not go back. Very disappointed as recently it seemed the store was becoming...
Read moreConsignee in multiple places is this one is by far the worst, extremely over priced for the lack of services given, not offered because they tell you of services they offer just they are not practiced. Mentioned multiple times about things they offered not being done and always got the answer, eh you know how the owner is. Which I don’t know how he is because I just got here. I’ve had multiple items removed from my booth to other booths with no trace of them being sold, multiple people reach out to me about awful customer service. Can’t wait for my lease to be up so I can leave. Spoke with another vendor yesterday that was pulling out also because of the same reason. Wish I had a warning before...
