Excellence Undone by Apathy Today, I experienced the stark difference between what customer service should be—and what it’s unfortunately becoming. I placed a pickup order at the Home Depot in Biloxi for a metal trash can. When I arrived, they were upfront about a missing lid. Rather than shrug their shoulders, the staff went out of their way to make it right. They offered me an upgrade, walked me through the return process, and even took the initiative to check another store’s inventory. One associate went so far as to pull up the Gulfport store’s stock on her computer, saw it was listed as “in stock,” and kindly suggested I call to have someone verify it was physically on the shelf before I drove 35 minutes out of my way. That is what professionalism and care look like. Unfortunately, that goodwill evaporated the moment I called the Gulfport location. The employee who answered was dismissive and outright rude. She refused to look up the item because I didn’t have the exact SKU—despite the fact that I was calling for help, not standing in the aisle with a barcode scanner. When I asked if someone could simply walk over to the shelf and confirm that the item was there, she flat-out refused. Not only was she unwilling to help, but she showed zero interest in trying to connect me with someone who could. I was not asking for a favor. I was trying to avoid a wasted trip and get confirmation on something your Biloxi location had already gone the extra mile to help me with. That’s not just good customer service—that’s good business. Gulfport, do better. You are not just representing your store, but the entire brand. Right now, you're the weakest link in a chain that others are still trying to keep strong. To add insult to injury, when I arrived and found the trash cans, none of them had price stickers. So guess what she had...
Read moreI'm so glad we chose HD for our window needs! We needed to get blinds for our house totalling 8 windows. We'd gotten a quote from another company a little over $2100 which was fine, but were looking for something to be put up within a week so we ended up checking out HD. We chose simple faux wood blinds that were already in stock, had the contractor to come out & measure, then the store cut the blinds. We picked them up, scheduled w/ the contractor, and our blinds were up! The entire process was great! Mr. Benny was fantastic! Energetic, very cool guy, knows his stuff! He set us up with everything we needed, went over the options with us, & got us on our way. Mr. Jerry the contractor called shortly after & set up our appt for measuring. Appointments were done via text which I was grateful for because I'm bad about missing calls. He gave 30 minute time frames for both appointments & was right on the mark for both which I highly appreciated. Nothing like waiting a whole day at home for an appointment that ends up being 3 hrs late (count your days, Sparklight!) I was home alone when he came & was VERY comfortable with him being in the house. He was professional and quick. When he came to do the actual installation, he had a partner with him who was equally professional & courteous. They had all blinds up within 30 mins! They look great, and I am so happy I went with this option! I'm usually a diy person, but this is one thing I'm glad I had professionally done. 10/10 for the...
Read moreHad them custom make a front door with side panels .. TWICE! The first was a pretty good install. Good casing and caulk job. And door opened and closed well. Then we noticed there were small braid nails sticking out of the trim work all around the panels. And it looked like someone tried to knock them in, but just bent them over. The final straw was the door size. It was supposed to be a 36" door, but was instead 34". So they were supposed to expedite a re-make at the proper 36" width. Their idea of "expedite" was two months. The new door when it came in was 36", but for some reason made the overall width including the panels smaller. The guy doing the install (by himself) just had a hard time with it. He had to go back to Home Depot for extra wood to fill in the space around the door. But the boards he used were wider than the original jamb width, so the "casing" boards he used didn't seat down on either side of the wall (almost 1/4" away). Of course he didn't try to caulk around any of this. The baseboards were cut about 1/4" short too. He did caulk that. And also the trim work around these panels had marks or impressions of a nail gun, but it must have been out of nails. I carefully put my own braids in. We should have sent this door back too, but we didn't want to wait until two months. My advice is, go somewhere else for your doors. Save yourself...
