Earthbound Trading Co. — Local services in Gurnee

I have shopped at Earthbound in three states, it's one of my favorite places. However, this location has fast become the exception. We were not greeted by any of the three employees who were standing there chatting when we came in. While we were looking at an expensive item near the employees, one of the women reached between us and the item and pointed to some smaller (and not exactly the same) items stating "These are $30." We spent a long time in the store as I was looking for a birthday gift (a stone I was being rather picky about) and several times when looking at the smaller items we were asked "Can I help you?" But only when looking at small items. When I finally chose and we rang out the woman at the register (the same one who had pointed out lower cost items) said "Oh, is that all?" and even though my companion tried to make small talk the woman ignored us, turned to say something to her coworkers, and did not say another word to us. As we left, we were the ones saying have a nice day. I did not appreciate the assumption we would be looking for cheap items nor the constant eyeing as if they thought we were stealing. Above all, the comments made were highly inappropriate for customer service. While on this visit I did not spend a large amount and only bought one small item - it is the ONLY time I have bought only one item on a visit to Earthbound. I generally spend several hundred dollars per visit and go every few months. Greatly saddened this is the only Earthbound within several hours of me as the experience is one of stores I do not return to. I do not plan on returning to this branch nor do I recommend...

SUPER uncomfortable walking around with a friend and her younger kid and being followed by one of the employees. I can understand if we looked shady, but we are well maintained, quiet folk, just minding our own business. The obnoxious employee(mind you, there were two others that smiled, greeted and let us be) followed us from the front to the back of the store and “pulled” us away from looking around to show us(primarily) the kid something cool(which is nice but A: stranger danger and B:just wanting to send the kid into a screaming fit for us to buy it) or to tell us sales and locations of products we didn’t even ask about. We both decided after the 6th time in 5 minutes(in all honesty) that it was time to dart out after she cornered us in the back corner. I’m into the metaphysical and earthly things, so was definitely into purchasing a few of their things but my friend and I both agreed that paying a shipping price off a different website would be more beneficial then hearing her and feeling annoyed. It’s one thing to let us know you’re there for us if we need help, but it’s another thing to be badgering and making us feel super awkward especially when neither of us wanted to be rude and tell her to...

Employees were very nice, but the manager was extremely pushy about selling things to my husband & I. She also followed us around the whole store, & it was overall an uncomfortable experience. I was looking at something on a wall as we were checking out, & she kept asking if I wanted to purchase it, & that she could grab it for me. I told her no thanks, & that I was just looking, but she insisted I needed it. If you were to go here, I would recommend wearing headphones to tune...
