I was so excited to find this put into gurnee mills and have now been only twice. My very first experience was not bad. My boba shake was amazing and the customer service was decent considering there were multiple people working and a lot of people in line. It was also two days before Christmas so I expected it would be a little of a wait. Well I just left gurnee mills after an almost 35 minute wait. When I got in line there was one person in front of me who seemed to not have ordered yet. She was patiently waiting as one woman was making drinks and the other was just casually walking around cleaning. Not sure how long she had been there but I waited about 5 minutes behind her before she walked away. I then waited another 15-20 minutes first in line to have my order taken. Not one word was said to me by either employee. No âit will be just a few minutes we have a few orders to makeâ or âI apologize for the waitâ or even âjust want to let you know it may be 20 minutes before we can get to your order as we are short staffed.â Honestly anything would have sufficed but I had to lean my head over the counter to ask how much longer they expected it to be. I was told they just finished their orders by the girl who had only been cleaning and stirring bobas. I told her that they should be a acknowledging the people waiting in like busy or not. Considering they both walked past me multiple times they could have easily apologized for the wait or made me feel like I wasnât just being ignored. After speaking my mind the other woman came to take my order, apologized under her breath as if I was inconveniencing her and took my order without making any eye contact. I then waited another 15 minutes for the two drinks I ordered. After reading the reviews I really hope management puts in an effort to better their customer service. -Matcha milk latte: The WORST drink, it tasted gross. There was a funny chemical milk powder taste. -Jasmine milk tea: Watered down and tasted like plain milk, not tea -Green tea avocado shake: Also tasted watered down -English rose milk tea: Other end of the spectrum, there was too much rose. It tasted like putting your mouth on a perfume bottle trigger -Tiger sugar matcha: This one was surprisingly okay. Nothing special but it tasted like it should. -Aloe jasmine fruit tea: Actually tasted great compared to the rest of the drinks
The boba itself was okay, a bit hard but certainly not the worst. I personally think the boba was bland. Contrary to other reviews, the customer service was good. Most of the drinks were also off their top ten list so it's not as if we ordered something obscure. We kept drinking hoping they would get better but they didn't.    Read moreI went yesterday and placed my order using the pay machine they have. I looked at my receipt & realized I forgot to mention little to no sugar. I go to the counter because I assumed I still had time before they made my order; it was a slow pace for the drinks to be ready. I kindly say "excuse me" as both workers had their backs to the crowd. I get no response. me thinking my voice is just low (I do get that a lot). I repeat myself. the response i get is eyerolled & and attitude "give me a bit". I still kindly responded with "okay". one of the lady's, intended believe her name was Cathy, came to me & I asked if they made my drink and she said yes. no big deal, I didn't voice my mistake... because it was my mistake at first, I guess. 5 mins later my drink was ready.
