On 9/25 I purchased two gift cards at the Gurnee Mills store. The salesperson was great. Tonight 9/30 our son returned to the store to redeem for his birthday and a card worth $100 did not work. My credit card was charged that money on 9/25. Nevertheless, all they could do was tell us to call Lego Customer Service the next day to try to resolve the problem. We spent $100, but couldn't use that $100 because of some kind of store or computer error. If they really can sell gift cards but are not equipped to solve problems in store when things go wrong, Lego Corporate needs to empower them or stop selling gift cards. If they didn't want to solve the problem in store, that is a matter of incompetency. Either way, we have a son who decided to spend his own summer job money to complete the transaction, and we have $100 spent on a gift card that was not credited properly, and we now need to call customer service to resolve this. We buy gifts cards all the time from other companies. This has never happened to us with any other retailer. The fact that the store that sold the card could not solve the problem on site is a huge red flag. As it is, Lego has $100 of our money with a receipt to prove it, and we have nothing. Follow up: after three email exchanges with Lego Corporate, they've credited our Insider Rewards $100 worth of points and sent our son an additional lego set valued at up to $25, which goes a long way toward making things right. Lego Corporate reported that the $100 was on the card all along and pointed us back to the Gurnee store for a refund if that was what we wanted--which is evidence the Gurnee store could have solved this on site had they wanted to figure it out. We opted not to return to the Gurnee store but to get the rewards points. Bottom line, Lego Corporate is great, but there were problems with this store location in this...
Read moreJust like any LEGO store in other malls, they've got the goodies! My 6-year-old son's favorite toy store and easily 2x a month, we're here or at another location.
In particular the last 6 months, myself, my wife or my mother have been to a Lego store to keep buying Super Mario sets for my son to keep adding on to his growing collection.
Stores are always ultra clean/sanitized with reasonable pricing with a points club which is a good way to keep coming back as opposed to buying elsewhere besides a Lego store. Staff always maintains the highest level of customer service as well.
Way back when I was about his age, I was into Legos like most young boys so whenever I step into one of these stores I'm sort of a lil kid all over again.
Thanks for being there to keep my son's...
Read moreThis is a well stocked store with great staff. Tyler assisted my husband and I with purchasing the Star Wars Cantina set as a Christmas gift to ourselves. He was very knowledgeable about LEGO products. We had more shopping to do so he was kind enough to hold the set for us until we were done. I quietly admitted to Tyler that when we were done putting the set together that I was going to play with it! Shhh! :-) Thanks for your help Tyler! We’ll be back in spring...
