As someone with seemingly constant back pain from spending too much time on the computer, having bad posture, being out of shape and overweight, and "overdoing it" with yard work - this spa has been a great relief when I am feeling extra stiff and achy.
I would jokingly say that "I just need someone to hit my back muscles with a sledge hammer" to reach the stiff/achy muscles. Luckily, Cindy doesn't need a sledge hammer to reach my deep muscles. She warms up my back with her hands and eventually climbs onto me while using the above handrails to support herself. Using her body weight, she dances along my spine, hips, and thighs - penetrating deep into my muscles in a way that I have never experienced from previous massages that are done with only the hands. If you aren't interested in that kind of pressure, I'm sure Cindy can find a less intense option for you that doesn't involve walking on your back.
The interior of the business is clean and quiet. Gentle music plays in the dimly lit room during the massage to help you relax. Complimentary water bottles for you on your way out.
If you get hot easily, ask to adjust the temperature of the room. You'll want to be as comfortable as possible going into the message to get the most from it. Be sure to let Cindy know what areas are causing you pain so she can make adjustments to the routine. If a specific portion feels extra good, let her know. She is very friendly and will work with you.
For my last massage, I told her to do the back walking portion extra since it feels so good. It was great. Best...
Read moreFor the record, I am NOT a massage guy (my wife loves them), but when my body gets sore and tight enough (and I complain too much), my wife finally convinces me to give a massage "another try." My past experiences with massages are that they are (1) too gentle, (2) have no lasting effect, and (3) are overpriced for the limited enjoyment of the experience. Over the years my wife has brought me to franchise establishments (Hand and Stone) as well as small business shops like this one - I have been equally unimpressed with the quality of the massage and the "chattiness" of the masseurs. I am happy to report that Haddon Towne Spa exceed EVERY experience I have had - by a large margin. They were able to accommodate a last-minute appointment, they understood that a request for a "deep tissue" massage means that I actually WANT it and can HANDLE it. And Oh Dear Lord do I finally understand why my wife loves a good massage! The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. The massage was amazing. The area was clean and felt comfortable (not creepy - always a concern of mine), and the music was soothing. I HIGHLY recommend (so much so I almost don't want to post this so that they don't get too busy!!!) Haddon Towne Spa and hope that they succeed and are highly profitable so that they will be here for...
Read moreHaddon Towne Spa on Haddon Aveneue, in Westmont, NJ is a HIDDEN GEM!!! Cindy, the proprietor and licensed massage therapist is the BEST!!! My usual is a 60 minute deep tissue massage and 30 min reflexology. I have frequented Haddon Towne Spa numerous times thru the years and believe me, Cindy's massage and reflexology sessions are amazing and consistent. Service are reasonably priced and in line with the industry pricing. The spa and rooms are welcoming, temperature controlled, soothing music, and very, very clean. She certainly has an eye for cleanliness and excellence. Cindy is easy to talk with, and has a pleasant, soothing voice. Very easy to schedule a session. Call and she will get back quickly with available times. Complimentary water is also available. Personally, I love the beauty of all of the plants inside and out that she and Lee nurture. 10/10 The BEST...
